A Hetalia-themed mod I created for Civ4: BTS.
I'm new to modding so I'm currently using the Nextwar BTS mod as a template.

Link to download + a few screenshots here.

Contents of the mod are listed below:

2010/04/28 -- Axis Powers Hetalia Mod (ver. 1.2)
Minor Fix for scripting error -- if you encounter it while loading the game, please download the fix.
Paste it in your Civ 4 mod folders then click yes when asked if you want to replace files. Sorry!

Interesting idea. I've read about Axis Powers Hetalia on TV Tropes. However, where is the download?

Funimation got the rights to it this month, so most reputable sites have taken it down.

(generally anime fansubbers don't offer their work if it gets licensed commercially. Some do anyways because they're pirates)

Wow, they passed on licensing it last year since they were worried about the whole racial jokes/stereotypes that are pretty much a big part of the series. Guess they can't ignore its popularity and market potential anymore.

The UI seems a little... minimal.

I tried ALT+I and that wasn't it, so don't bother asking.

Any body else seeing this?

Wow. That was a pretty speedy reply. I took BUG off, but come to think of it i might still have solvers patch on or something else. Time for a reinstall perhaps?. I'll get back to you on that in a bit.

Okay. Full re-install, so I am pretty sure all the custom assets where wiped. added patch 3.19. Same problems as above.
I'll try to poke around it tommorow and see if I can find a solution.

Okay, that was it. Simply amazing that a re-install wouldn't do that, but there you have it. Thanks for the help, interface seems to be working fine.

I was recently told that someone who downloaded my mod was unable to play it on multiplayer after the most recent update (They were able to do so before).
Basically, when they have the mod loaded, they cannot join each other's games as they do not see each other. They are able to join each other's games when they do not have my mod loaded.

I have not made any changes regarding this file's multiplayer playability (at least I don't remember doing so).

I'd like to know if this is either an isolated problem (Above mentioned user's game/computer) or does it lie with the mod files itself. Would someone who has my mod care to see if this is also the case?

No clue, I think they are just playing LAN. Just checking to see if anyone else encountered that problem with the mod.

Your mod made me go read the whole hentalia scanlations >.>

Anyways, not bad. Especially like the music :D This isnt much of a major mod per se but Im having trouble thinking up any great new additions to it >.>
But yeah, so far so good as they say :D

It's not, I've built it using the NextWar mod as a base so its basically just music, custom text and leaderhead but I do like to see it become something more. For example, I'd like to have some scenarios set up for it like WW2, War of the Austrian Succession and Cold War. Maybe have some of the Civ4 resources swapped with more Hetalia-themed resources like tomatoes, potatoes, vodka, etc. Unfortunately, I still have a bunch of custom text and leaders I plan to put in, and I haven't had much time to do so, much less learn the more advanced modding + programming language. -.-

Anyways, glad to see another introduced to Hetalia XD

My friends and I are big fans of Hetalia, and I was so very surprised to see this mod! (glad I decided to check one day). Love the mod, the custom dialogue is so very hilarious, and the leaders are perfect! (Get Feliciano as my vassal every time, poor cowardly thing).

However, my friends and I wish there were more leaders/civs on it, or improved dialogue for some of the less-developed leaders, so I thought I might mod it some if you don't have the time to make more additions... Only problem is, I don't understand what you did to get all the custom dialog... could you explain how you did this, and perhaps rig together something I can paste into the appropriate xml files to add dialog for new civilizations? I would be even more grateful to you if you could do this! (Even if you do end up working more on this mod, could you still tell me how to do the custom dialog?) Thank you so very much for the great mod!

Never mind... finally found some threads on this forum that explain custom dialog... strange that most of the modding guides don't mention it...
Have even more incredible respect for this mod now... adding the stuff to the diplomacyinfos file is tedious! also took me 2x as long as it should because of typos ruining the whole thing... Barely added one leader! Just wish they had made that easier to do...

Thanks again for the mod, it is so very wonderful! Keep up the good work if you are continuing.

Yea, its tedious, but this mod is more about flavour, as it's basically the same Civ4 game. (I don't know enough to add new game features unique to the mod, but I'm trying, haha) THank you kindly for the comments, and also, new patch is up. :)

Thank you so much! I wasn't sure if you were continuing development of this... It makes my friends and I very excited! A little disappointed you haven't added Poland yet... I hope you someday at least add Poland, Lithuania, and the scandinavian nations, although it would be really cool if you somehow added all the characters eventually! keep up the good work. Made Feliks (Poland) myself, although he's still a little buggy, and I'm waiting for one of my friends longer familiar with the series to make the dialog better (right now he just says random inane things about ponies and partitioning)

I've already downloaded a Lithuania civ and a Poland civ from the modding community a while back. I look forward to adding them in the future, but this summer is very very busy for me. I was barely able to push out the new update with Switzerland, the Bad Touch Trio, and the Husband Wife combo.

If you and your friends were to help me with even one leader, I would very much appreciate it! Feel free to send me the work you have done on Poland's coding. I'll make sure to record it down as a collaboration between us and give you proper credit for it!

Also, if you have LiveJournal, feel free to join a community I created which follows this mod!
