While I'm going to admit I did chuckle a bit at that last comic, joking about someone's depression when he's in the middle of a depression is generally not funny, even though you might have good intentions.

Actually, the USA probably did have the world's highest standard of living at the time, even with the Depression and all. All countries were effected by the Depression and some had it much worse than the USA (except the USSR, and as for their standard of living...well, yeah.)

Well, the sentence "right behind you" coming from the spy, usually means he has the intention of backstabbing someone.
I think you will be able to guess the rest.

Nonetheless, I still was able to find this funny by merit of the fact I've seen TF2's promotional videos for its characters, even if I've never played the game before...

I thank you. The parody-sequence was of course made due to the massive popularity of the trailers, whereas the "Meet the Spy" was my favorite, and the most fitting for this kind of situation.
