Scenerio: The First Colony War 2409 AD. (Comments and suggestions would be very nice)

The Following is a brief history(at least according to the historians lol) of the events of the last few centuries...

21st Century:

Starting in late 2001, the first war of the new millenium began when a terrorist attack on the world trade center occured. The Organization responsible, Al-Quida, and its allies became the target of nations such as the United States in a campaign to eliminate Al-Quida as well as its allies.

Early on, the war was entirely fought threw military means, however, by 2007, the United States and its allies began a concerted campaign on backing secular, anti-fundamentalist figures and getting them into power in the various Middle Eastern, Asian and African nations where the radical blend of Islam and Fascism had a foothold. The campaign also included pro-western propaganda and increased exposure to western culture and pop-culture via priviate companys.

By 2012, the tyrannical governments of several nations, such as Saudi Arabia, who previously had been a bona-fad US supporter, declared the US and other countries actions a declaration of war, as the anti-terror propaganda campaign was beginning to undermine their authority. Thus, the War on Terror morphed into an enterly new conflict: The Secular-Fundamentalist War.

Using mostly airpower, the US and its allies managed to gain the upper hand early in the conflict, however, Iran and Saudi Arabia eventually unleashed a new Anti-Aircraft system which was far more deadly than Anti Aircraft Guns or SAM Launchers: The EMP Cannon. Using this new weapon, the Anti-Western arabs managed to neutralize the Allied Airial advantage, and traditional ground battles began. Using conventional Tanks and Troops, the allies became vulnerable to attacks by Al-Quida and other groups, and many armed men and women died as a result of chemical or biological attacks. Finally, by 2015, with a total of more than 100000 casualities, many of the US' allies decided to withdraw from the war. Meanwhile, the Egyptians, now a staunch Western Government, unleashed their new Ramses Tanks onto the battlefield. These powerful weapons had the ability to burrow underground and attack from below, giving the enemys of the west a new threat to worry about. The Anti-Westerners eventually began making a wide-spread use of landmines in order to make sure that their wasn't a danger of a Ramses attack. This caused the war to move into urban areas, where Anti-Westerners began using Mosques and other holy sights as bunkers.

After unleashing their new, Power Armored Infantry, which neutralized biological, chemical, and eventually, by 2021, bullet-based weaponry, the United States, and eventually its remaining allies still in the war, managed to turn the tide and, in 2023, defeat the Anti-Westerners completely.

With that War over, the United States and the European Union, by now staunch allies and superpowers both, combined their vast resourches in building up the middle east and repairing the damage done in the war.

After the War, Great Britain proposed to the United States of forming a new economic alliance to compete with the now rich European Union. The US agreed, and the American-British Commonwealth Economic Union was born. The A.B.C.E.U, with its strong Electronic-Based Currency(Called Credits), quickly rebalanced the odds, since it was on equal footing with the EU.

Peace reigned for a time, but it would not last...for in 2035, Russia, long withdrawn from World Affairs, decided to attack the nations of the Europeon Union, to take their wealth for themselves.

In 2013, Vladimir Putin stepped down as the leader of Russia, naming Ivan Stovavich his successor. Ivan, an Imperialist, longed to restore the glory Russia once had during its days as the Soviet Union, and quickly turned the now anarchic Russia into a millitary-backed police state. Using the underground global black market, Russia was able to fund and train a large army armed with all the latest in military hardware, and even to create their own new weapons, thanks to the efforts of great mercanary scientists. One of their new weapons was a new, compact generator which, when combined with a Power Suit, finally made Laser Weaponry practical.

Finally, in October of 2035(a date Ivan choose to coincede with the revulution which orginally created the Old Soviet Union), Russia attacked Europe with its armys of Laser-Armed Infantry and Laser-Armed Tanks and Fighters. Knowing the United States would likely come to the aid of its allies, Russia launched a pre-emptive nuclear attack on the United States, destroying Washington DC and several other major US cities. The US counterattacked with Nukes of its own, destroying several major Russian cities, but not touching the Russian Government or its favored citizens, because they were several miles underground.

Thus, World War Three officially began(strange that historians do not consider the previous great conflict a World War).

With the United States mostly crippled, the Russians, now not fearing US intervention, invaded Europe. With their troops dressed in bright red, with an arrogant disregard for stealth, they made obvious targets for the European troops, who, found to their horror, that their weapons had no effect of the Russian military, and that their bullet-based weapons were also inferior to the infinite ammunition of the Russian Laser Weapons. Austria and the Netherlands were quickly captured, but a weapon developed by mostly French scientists proved to turn the tide in the war....the Mech.

More mobile than tanks, and sporting heavier armor and laser weaponry, the first generation European Griffion-Class and heavyer Mercury-Class Mechs proved a nightmare for Russian Infantry and Tank forces. After the United European Armies managed to liberate Austria and the Netherlands, the European forces quickly captured Western Russia, and marched on Moscow, finding the population either dead or missing. Finally after two years of searching, in 2037, the Europeans gave up searching for the government of Russia, and Ivan Stavanovich was pressumed dead, Russia became a huge graveyard, for not just its innocent population, but for the nation itself.

The USA meanwhile, was in a similiar, but slightly better situation. 2/3s of the major cities were destroyed or abandoned because of the Nuclear attack, and the population moved to unpopulated regions away from the Radiation Zones. Cancer rates skyrocketed, and the US' population was estimated to have been reduced by 75%. Formerly one of the most powerful, most blessed nations on Earth, the US was now little more than scortched wasteland and uninhabided wilderness.

Meanwhile, in China, which had remained an isolationist nation, had spent the first half of the 21st century modernizing, and eventually innovating on their own. China, following the collapse of the Communist Party in 2024, began a rapid move towards Democracy. By 2035, during the surprise third world war, China spent time reorganizing its country, and in 2037, when they discovered the United States was gone, adopted a State-Like province system similiar to the fallen nation as a form of tribute. Taiwan was remerged with China, and became one of its more popular states to visit. The United States of China was born, replacing the People's Republic.

By 2048, China began sending manned missions to Mars, using new advances in space travel technology. Finally, in 2056, China sent its first group of colonists to Mars, and began the lengthy process of terraforming. The United Nations, now located in London(after England decided to join the EU following the discruction of its economic union partner, the US), now urged the World, which now was composed of by 2/3s Democratic Nations, to unite and cast off the "Outdated" nation state, citing the previous two global conflicts as examples of what the most extreme acts of separate nations was capable of. Canada, the European Union, the African Union(simply an economic alliance between the more modern nations of the continent), as well as India and the Middle East agreed to join up, forming the United Nations Union.

Finally, in 2098, Mexico agreed to join the United Nations Union.

The 22nd Century:

By 2112, China had extended its Colony efforts when Martian Global Warming began, creating shallow seas across much of the planet. Specially engineered vegetation was added, and temperatures as well as the climate and atmosphere of Mars quickly gravitated towards that of Earth. Cunningly keeping the Colonization efforts secret the entire time to prevent a space race to mars, China now was the most advanced country in the world.

In 2122, after adding Mongolia to the United Nations Union, the original good intent and nobile leadership of the massive-super nation began to be replaced by new, less nobile individuals. These individuals believed, like their predessors, that humanity was better off united under a single flag. Unlike their predessors, they believed that forcing all the world's remaining independant nations would be necessary, and any means could be used to do it.

In 2131, the priviate funded scientists of UNU began to take an active notice with Space Exploration again after new telescope sattelites were put into orbit to replace the ones that were destroyed due to neglect, and discovered the forests, seas, and towns on Mars. This quickly caused a panic threwout the UNU, as UFO cultists and others believed that "Aliens have settled Mars!". After some investigation, it was discovered that the settlements and terrififorming were not aliens at all, but Chinese!

This outraged the citizens of the UNU, who were, due to the educational system and popular culture, naturally suspisious of the motives of individual nations that were not part of the UNU. The sentiment carried over to the ESU's elections, and politicians which took the hardest, most anti-nationalistic stance came out on top.

The Government of China insisted that the Colonys were purely to solve China's population problems, but the UNU didn't buy it, and cut off all trade ties to China, urging other independant nations to join the embargo, and to soon join the UNU("Join the UNU!" was a common phrase on commericials selling products made in the UNU, and it carried over to UNU government speeches aimed at other countries)

Resenting UNU's huge economic might, and their insistance on embargoing China, still independant nations such as Australia, Indonesia, Brazil and Japan refused to support the embargo, and continued trading with China.

Two Economic Blocks soon developed, the UNU, and the Non-UNU.

Soon, the UNU insisted that China share its space secrets with the rest of the world. China refused, stating that reveiling any of its technological secrets would be a threat to its national security.

The other Non-UNU nations supported China's decision, even though they were interested in Space themselves. UNU then made the Space Program its top priority, aiming to begin sending colonists themselves to Mars to "Eliminate the growing threat of Chinese Nationalist Imperialism".

In 2136, Korea decided to join the UNU following the 100th anniversary of the Third World War. Siam, Vietnam and other Asian Nations became split between Pro-UNU Globalists and Nationalists. Eventually the more fanatical Globalist groups began engaging in Terrorist and Para-Military activities against the government of their respective nations. When the governments of each nation put down the rebellions using Mecha and other advanced weaponry, the outrage among the population of the UNU became deafening.(Their was little descent in the Super-Nation now that the media and education, and therefore, public opinion, was pro-UNU. Despite the few voices that cried out that the UNU government had become increasingly corrupt and tyrannical). So the UNU Government decided to integrate the non-UNU asian nations by force, citing liberation and the continuing battle against Nationalism as its reason.

China threatened to aid its small naighbors if the UNU attacked, using its considerable military might as a countermeasure to make the UNU reconsider.

The UNU people, mindful of the devastating Third World War, hesitated.

In 2145, almost a decade later, the UNU government fired a new Anti-Nuclear satelite into orbit. The satelite, code-named "The Dove of Peace" emitted a powerful field of particles which prevented a nuclear detination, thereby eliminating the threat of nuclear weapons. China and other Non-UNU governments saw this as a potencial threat, not knowing its purpose and demanded that the UNU remove the satelite. When the UNU refused, China sent a squadron of D-34 Space Fighters(Effectionately called "Dragons" by the Chinese Air and Spaceforce) into orbit and blasted the Sattelite into scrap.

Defiantly, the UNU launched another Sattelite, and this time assigned its own Aerospace Drone Fighters to guard it. The UNU warned that if China attacked, they'd risk a full-scale space war, they also added that only China would get casualtys, since it was a NON-UNU country, and therefore, like the "Barbarians" they were, still used manned fighters. The Cold War between the UNU and China-led Non-UNU continued.

Soon, the UNU launched its own colonists, but these were not sent for Mars, but the Moon. Steadily, the Moon was built up and by 2156, the visable part of the moon was filled with Dome-encased cities and Dome-Encased habitats based on various natural earth eco-systems. Once the Moon was self-suffient, the UNU developed plans for massive orbital space colonys to be conscructed and launched into orbit. The early colonys were donut-shaped, but later, by 2169, the UNU began construction of massive mile-long Sphere-Shaped Super Colonies.

Finally, in 2172, the first Sphere Colony was completed, and colonists from all over the UNU began moving to their new home.

Meanwhile the UNU government began enforcing the ban on all religions(The Anti-Religion policy was put into place in 2134, in order to contrast the UNU with the mostly Christian China, Australia and Brazil, as well as Muslim Indonesia and Jewish Israel, however, it was not enforced until March of 2172.)

Now the UNU was seen clearly for what it was, a tyrannical, totalitarian force. The Non-UNU countries increased military spending, and China created the Armed Alliance of Free Nations as a massive joint military force which any Non-UNU country was free to join.

Finally, in November of 2173, China attacked the UNU's Anti-Nuclear sattelite, and a full-scale war in orbit over Earth began. After a year of the orbital space-fighting, The UNU government renamed the United Nations Union the United Earth Authority, and declared itself the only legal and recognized government on the planet.

The newly renamed UEA quickly invaded the smaller, weaker independant nations using their new Liberator-Class Drone Mecha, which were far superior to the aging mecha designs used by most of the Independant Nations. In response, China sent its Kublai Kahn Class Mecha as well as their smaller, Goblin-Class Mecha, which proformed a role which used to be proformed by Infantry(Infantry were seldom used since they were escentally cannon fodder for Mecha by this time).

The other members of AAFN soon joined the battle, and the Sovereignty War began. The battle waged back and forth for the next 20 years, until, in 2193, China used a brief window of opertunity, and launched its newly developed Nova-Class Neutron Bombs(Nuclear Bombs were not used since the Massive Nuclear fallouts of the previous century caused widespread epidemics and cancer, something China did not want to happen again). AAFN targeted the military production faculties in Sectors 1, 3, and 7(formerly Canada, Europe and Southern Africa), with the Neutron Bombs, hoping to cripple the UEA's military production. Instead, the UEA switched its strategy, and recalled its orbital forces, instead targeting China and other AAFN member nations with carpet bombings and procision strikes. These procision strikes were miner in scale and served to merely annoy China and other nations, as it wasn't long before air patrols kept UAE fighters to busy to engage in bombing runs. Developed with extreme secrecy, the UEA also tested its newest and most deadly weapon, the Century Canon, at this time, despite massive combat in orbit. The Century Canon, a massive Laser Cannon about one mile long(which the AAFN had been desperately trying to destroy before it was completed in orbit). The Century Canon's massive lasers destroyed Beijing and many other AAFN member nations capitals in its first five shots(The Century Canon's range nearly unlimited, and was in a heavily fortified area in orbit around the earth). With its vast economy crippled, China steadily began to decline as a military power...until finally in 2195, China surrendered to the UEA, and was quickly invaded and "Pacified", and then quickly added to the UEA's sphere of influence(However HUGE resistance began in China as its citizens fought against the UEA)

Shortly after, the other AAFN members were forced to also surrender. It appeared that Humanity was at last united under a single nation, however, it was not a nation of beneviolence and goodwill, but a dark, orwellian place.

The 23rd Century:

During the first decade of the 24th century, sporadic fighting between Non-UEA nations and the UEA itself continued. After the surrender of all the African Nations, Central America and South America became the target for "De-Nationalization". The weaker Central American and South American nations pleaded with the UEA to leave them in peace. They weren't nearly as advanced as the UEA, mostly living in 21st century conditions, and lacking modern military weapons such as Mecha.

The UEA refused to give up its plans, and launched a quick attack using mostly mecha devisions and Aerospace power. Within two months, by September 2305, all of Central America and South America was under UEA control.

The nation of Oceania(An allaince composed of Indonesia, Micronesia, Australia, New Zealand, Hwaii and other pacific groups), largely isolationist since China's defeat, became the UEA's next and last target. Using Aerospace Fighter hit-and run strikes to dismantle Oceania's Millitary, the UEA quickly invaded, and by January of 2306, had Oceania, which was quickly renamed Sector 10, under its control. With Earth now totally rendered Nation-less, the UEA turned away from military matters, and began culturally reforming its newly conquered Sectors. Religion was banned in all the new sectors. All Churches, Temples and Mosques were burned to the ground and replaced by Re-Education Centers. Education in the new sectors was completely revamped to portray history in an-Anti-Nationalist way. Fierce Propaganda flowed swiftly across the entire planet.

Meanwhile, The former United States, still mostly wasteland but now almost totally radiation free, became the home for many refugees fleeing the harsh UEA rule. Believing that there was no living person in the former United States(Sector 0-1), the UEA ignored the region completely. Something similiar took place in Sector 0-2(Russia), as well as Antartica(Where some of the remnants of the old Chinese Military as well as others had secret underground tunnels.

These three regions became the only free zones on Earth.

Meanwhile, on Mars, which by now had a climate very similiar to Earth's, had developed a highly structured, democractic society. Cities had sprung up all over the planet since the terraforming was complete, and by 2313, much of the planet was inhabited. Forgotten by China in the beginning of the Sovergnty War, Mars considered inself independant from any Earth nation. In addition, Mars had been monitoring communications from Earth since the begining of the Sovereignty War. They were horrified at the news of the UEA's complete takeover of the planet, as well as the UEA's tyrannical ways. Martians largely believed that preparation for an eventual attack from Earth was a wise coarse of action, however, the current President of Mars opposed Military spending.

In 2323, Senator Yang Kwong of Olympus Mons was elected President of Mars by the Martian people after the impeachment and removal of the previous President due to a finance scandal. President Kwong, unlike his predessor, had a strong interest in new weapons technology. This caused the Martian Economy to move towards military spending in the field of Research and Development.

By 2326, Martian Engineers reveiled new Military Fighters which were designed to fight entirely in space. These new fighter designs were far superior to the D-23 Aerospace Fighters Mars inherited from China. In 2328, Mars began converting Mar's two moons into massive military bases and hangars to house the thousands of S-1 "Starlancer" Space Fighters. In addition, Mars began a economic and military purpose mining operation of the nearby Asteroid Belt. The Metals found in the Asteroid belts were found to be rich in many metals, this boosted Mar's economy tremendiously, small mining colonies were eventually constructed, which quickly grew as many ambitious Martians journeyed to the Belt. By 2338, the Asteroid Colonys became self-sufficient, as their growth into space cities was well underway.

Back on Mars, ambitious plans for the construction of enormious military ships began. The theory was that if Earth intended to attack Mars, they wouldn't come with squadrons of fighters alone, but with much larger vessels, since Fighters didn't have the range to make such a journey alone. And since Earth used Remote-Controled Fighters, they'd need something to relay the signals from which to control the fighters.

By 2342, the first of Mar's prototype Space Battleships was constructed. Named the "Seraph" the ship and its many Quad-Laser canons proformed up to expectations. Quickly conscruction of additional Seraph-Class Space Battleships began, as well as other smaller starships such as the Endolon-Class Cruisers, and the China-Class Space Carriers, which were created to serve as mobile hangar bays to house S-1 Starlancers as well as Mar's new Nebula-Class N-1 Space Bombers. By 2355, Mars had an entire fleet in orbit to guard the planet.

The Luner and Orbital Colonys around the Earth's Sphere of influence meanwhile, which became totally ignored by the UEA shortly after their completion, quietly declared independence from Earth in 2323, and two new space nations were born, The Luner Federation and the Orbital Settlement Allaince, or O.S.A for short. Both the Lunerians and O.S.A had strong militarys, as Earth had sent them fleets of Fighters in case of attack from China and others during the Sovereignty War, however, both O.S.A and the Lunerians began creating their own military designs, and soon both nations posessed unique new Space Fighters of their own. The Luner Federation also built a fleet of Gunships, although their designs were inferior to both Terran and Martian designs.

On Earth, the UEA's sphere of influence began to decline as a new generation, with new views in regard to government, religion and other matters emmerged. The UEA's response to them, like all insurgencts across the planet, was to send them all into Re-Education centers, or silently make them dissapear.

Finally, in the last years of the 24th century, Earth learned of its colonie's indepence, and decided to launch a new campaign to completely unifify the solar system, setting the stage for the First Colony War.

The Nations of the Solar System:

The United Earth Authority(UEA)

Nation History: Founded as the United Nations Union in the late 21st century, the UEA over the coarse of the 22nd Century came to completely dominate the planet. By the early 23rd century, all the Earth was under their control.

A totalitarian state combining elements of Maoism, Hitlerism and Orwellianism, the UEA beliefs that its policies are justified, since they believe Democracy and Religion fuel the fires of Nationalism, and therefore war. They are blind to their own evil. At least, the average Sector Governor is...however, the top leadership of the UEA, and especially its current dictator, Loius Joetenhamyr, only use the Anti-Nationalism and pseudo religious beliefs of their underlings as a means to maintain control. This has been the case since the middle of the 22nd century.

Nation Special Units: In this scenerio, Earth possesses its infamious Century Cannon, which can be mass produced(for a LARGE cost however). This fearsome weapon can destroy a city in one shot, or completely destroy a single unit. They are defenseless however, and can be captured. Also, Earth uses Unmanned Space Fighters and Mecha early in the scenerio(M-34 Fighters and Liberator-15 Mecha) later on, Earth switches to a conventional millitary(Centaurus Mecha and Vampire Fighters). Late in the scenerio, Earth will gain excess to Predator Hoverships, deadly units controlled by true Artificial Intelligence. Keep in mind that Earth's infantry is nearly non-existant, infantry being completely phased out of militaries of Earth by the early 22nd century due to the dominance of Mecha. Earth's infantry consists of old Power Armor designs. Due to Earth's distaste in sending humans to the battlefield, Infantry aren't a practical option for Earth.

The Luner Federation:

Nation History: In the early 23rd century the Moon silently broke off from the UEA's control after overthrowing and swiftly sweeping away the corrupt Tyrannical Governor as well as UEA's left over laws(no religion etc.), the Luner Federation became a thriving nation imploying a sort of Neo-Feudalism. The Moon was divided into four sectors by the UEA shortly after colonization. These Sectors became somewhat independant, but united in economic and military might. Each Sector was controlled by a Sectorian, who had nearly complete control over the government of his or her sector, but was expected to rule fairly or face removal. The greatest of the four Sectorians was Nou Gaflor, a charismatic man of African descend.

Nation Special Units: The Lunerians have access to Luner Defenders, a powerful Space Fighter which is superior to Earth's Space Fighters. In addition, their Artemis Gunships are alot cheaper than the Capital Starships used by Earth or Mars, but are quite a bit weaker. Their strength lies in numbers.

Orbital Settlement Allaince(O.S.A)

Nation History: The Orbital Settlement Allaince began when the then UNU sent space colonies into orbit. Although considered part of the UEA, the Space Colonies were left to fend for themselves following the begining of the Sovereignty War. A strong, independant sprit arose in the colony citizens, and soon the colonies had done away with the UEA's strict and unfair laws, in favor of much more leniant, although certainly not totally democratic(Many of the colonies still frowned opon religion, although not banned, religious people were monitored closely). Each colony was its own tiny nation in a sense, and each made decisions in line with this fact. However, in the early 23rd century, the Orbital Settlement Allaince came into being shortly after the UEA dominated the planet, winning the Sovereignty War. This event caused the colonys to fear that Earth would be coming for them next, and so the colonies decided to band toghether and form a Military and Economic Allaince in order to prepare in case Earth attacked, Much like the Moon, only each colony was considered its own soveign identity.

The Nation of Mars

Nation History: Mars began as a Nation shortly after terraforming operations were underway. In the early part of the 22nd century, the Martian Colonials set up their own local governments. By the 23rd century, when Mars became mostly Earthlike, the colonys began discussion on plans to create a Federal-level government. By 2310, the Martian Republic was declared, and its first President, Yako Sinsong, lend the effort to unite the various isolated Martian Colonys with roads and communication. By 2325, Mars was totally integrated commication and travel-wise. Following the strengthening of the Federal Government over local colony governments in 2334, and the receival of long ago sent transmissions from the doomed nation of China, Mars declared itself a sovereign, independant nation, and the successor to the Democratic Traditions of the United Chinese States. After military buildups following the removal from office of Mar's 15th President, Mars was ready to counter any attempted invasion launched from Earth. In 2400, Zoe Manchuria was elected as the new President of Mars. Mars had a new leader to lead her into the new century.

The Asteroid Belt Mining Guilds

Nation History: The Mining Guilds began as a resourse gathering operation by Mars. After two decades, the Mining colonys were self-suffient, and cities began appearing inside the larger, more stable asteroids. When word of an invasion by Earth reached the Mining Guilds, they began conscruction of their own military in case some of Earth's forces reached them. Although technically part of Mars, the Guilds are controled by a company which has little loyalty to Mars. Its CEO, Yoshimo Kang, even has interests in breaking away from Mars and leading the Guild as its President. During the coming chaos of the Colony War, he may get his wish.

EMPs aren't directional, they radiate in all directions. Plus the best way to generate them is detonating nuclear weapons in the high atmosphere. That would be far more practical for maybe Iran to do, but it would rapidly deplete their nuclear stockpile.

Using conventional Tanks and Troops, the allies became vulnerable to attacks by Al-Quida and other groups, and many armed men and women died as a result of chemical or biological attacks. Finally, by 2015, with a total of more than 100000 casualities, many of the US' allies decided to withdraw from the war.

Most of Saudi Arabia's equipment is owned by the US - including the 700 some odd M1A2 tanks they have - and was on loan to protect against Hussein. Most of it would've been withdrawn before these events, and none of the nations in the region (excepting Iraq pre-invasion) had an advanced bio-chem warfare program, Iran focusing mainly on nuclear weapons. Even if they did, every frontline soldier in the American military can easily be equipped with NBC gear, making those weapons (bio/chem) fairly worthless after the first few attacks, and only viable on rear-line targets.

Finally, in October of 2035(a date Ivan choose to coincede with the revulution which orginally created the Old Soviet Union), Russia attacked Europe with its armys of Laser-Armed Infantry and Laser-Armed Tanks and Fighters. Knowing the United States would likely come to the aid of its allies, Russia launched a pre-emptive nuclear attack on the United States, destroying Washington DC and several other major US cities. The US counterattacked with Nukes of its own, destroying several major Russian cities, but not touching the Russian Government or its favored citizens, because they were several miles underground.

I don't think Putin'd give up power to anyone - not like he can name his successor anyway, as Russia depends on elections. Considering the country's also not in the most tip-top of shape I don't think the people would choose someone vowing to conquer distant lands instead - but someone who promised jobs and a better economy. Most of the rogue scientists out there are Russian anyway - and it seems kind of unlikely they'd overnight catch up with the US on R&D programs of the past two decades. Maybe by the time of the 2035 war they'd just be catching up with the American military of 2015 (which will have railguns and C-130-based lasers, maybe Rods from God, etc).

Canada, the European Union, the African Union(simply an economic alliance between the more modern nations of the continent), as well as India and the Middle East agreed to join up, forming the United Nations Union.

The Middle East that's still embroiled in bitter combat well into the 23rd century (2223)?

After unleashing their new, Power Armored Infantry, which neutralized biological, chemical, and eventually, by 2021, bullet-based weaponry, the United States, and eventually its remaining allies still in the war, managed to turn the tide and, in 2223, defeat the Anti-Westerners completely.

If the US got nuked, and was essentially crippled, why did the "Anti-Westerners" even bother resuming attacks some 100 years later? Did they target the EU, which was already fighting the Russians? How, in fact, did they even last 200 years? And I think the word combo you're looking for is projectile-based - though it's kinda misleading as the technology to do so probably wouldn't stop gauss weapons.

Personally it doesn't seem like a very flowing picture of future events. Events in the Middle East are probably going to be more sporadic than a giant war, and I don't think Russia's going to go neo-Communist. Something focusing instead on North Korea, Taiwan, China, and Russia, and the United States, with an potential escalation to WWIII, would probably be more realistic - and more interesting in my eyes, as it's a potentially real possibility.

You think it take that long for a orbital colony war to occur?

Also by 2409 a lot of the world would be flooded because of global warming.

About the Global Warming...I believe that within ten years, hybrid cars will totally replace gas-powered ones. In this scenerio's history, hybrid cars are replaced by electronic powered ones in 2027. Lots of other anti-global warming efforts are being started now, but lots of Global Cooling(Nuclear Winter) follows the third world war. A flooded map of earth would be interesting to play on though.

Yeah, but the Middle East conflict ends (completely) in 2223 - around 200 years after the US was nuked. I don't think even radical terrorists would be that persistent.

That where you got the silly drilling tanks from idea too? Tiberian Sun was just... awful. Please, please don't take any ideas from that game. And microwaves don't do jack to planes. Microwaves can barely do jack to humans (the only reason they cook your food is because there are emitters on either side and the rays are trapped in a box where they bounce around). You need Milliwaves (like the new anti-crowd weapon the Army has for use on top of Humvees) to do any real immediate tissue damage to people, and it's not even permanent. Such weapons would have no real effect on machines - and even if they did, they would be far beyond the R&D ability of any Middle Eastern country at present.

Considering Iran lacks any sort of viable delivery system for nuclear weapons to the home territories of those involved, a crude rocket for getting them into low orbit would be the more effective option. EMPs caused by nuclear blasts have been as big as from Sydney to San Francisco, and persisted for several hours - enough time for an offensive of some sort. Not only would it play havoc with anything in the air but it'd also take out any satellites in the region.

On another note, radiation kinda goes everywhere due to fallout and wind. If Russia and the US exchanged nuclear warheads in MAD fashion as you describe, virtually the entire northern hemisphere would be unihabitable, not just the US and Russia.

I like the mecha, does that count? Or am I chopped liver? I would say no, it doesn't make sense. Considering the traditions of Native American peoples they would probably be content to keep to themselves in light of everything in the United States being consumed by nuclear hellfire.

Discussions on the History aside, what kind of map would best suit this Scenerio? I was considering doing a series of scenerios, where people could play as any of the Space Nations, and play the Colony War on different fronts.

One would be in Space(Using Space Terrain Graphics) in this scenerio, there will be no City building, except for the Asteroid Mining Guilds. Combat will be entirely Space Based, so no Infantry or Mecha will make appearences, and Spacefighters and Capital Starships will be your weaponry.

The Second is the Invasion of Mars scenerio..in this scenerio, Earth has broken past Mar's space forces, and is launching a full-scale ground invasion. Mars has excess to its Space Fighters, older Mecha designs, as well as very cheap infantry units(Laser Troopers). Late in the scenerio, Mars will aquire Cyclotron Drones. Earth has more powerful(but much more Expensive) Mecha, as well as Space Fighters, and later, Predator Droneships.

In the Invasion of Mars scenerio, Mars will build Vehicle Settlers, and Earth will build Invasion Ships. Mars will start with a city(the area Earth invades is on an area of Mars which is away from the civilized zones).

The third and final scenerio will take place after the Invasion of Mars scenerio. Mars has defeated Earth's invasion attempt, and manages to retake their orbital shipyards. After this, Mars builds a sizeable space invasion fleet, and launches towards Earth to launch a "Regime Change" on Earth.

Earth has many cities, however, three areas of the Planet are not under Earth control....Antartica, the Former United States(Sector 0-1) and the former Russia(Sector 0-2) Mar's objective is to colonize and build up these areas, and then attack Earth. Mars will be able to build Vehicle Settlers(the Same ones used in the Martian Scenerio), Earth will not be able to build settlers, however, they will have plenty of resources to build a military of their own(Consisting of Mechs mostly).

Symphony D. stop insulting the scenario! I t isn't supposed to be realistic! No one can nknow what will happen in teh future! As long as it's fun, I'll play it.

Sounds like a cool scenario... Even if it's unrealistic, I like how detailed the history is.

Personally, I don't think much space colonization will happen soon. Not for technical reasons, I think the situation here on Earth will go insane (coporations won't want to fix the Earth, and when the situation gets bad enough, they'll just start doming important cities)... Eventually, regions of domed cities under corporate control will break away from their respective countries, piss each other off, corporate world wars, lots of nukes, then lots and lots of empty... I don't think they'll have the time/initiative to go anywhere else.

But hey, if we all kill each other off (and evolution's right), current species will either die off completely or adapt (probably die, too many changes, too quick)... Then we'll be... Uh, Mars... With lots of radiation.

Anyway, cool mod idea.

Pretty apocolyptic future there Yeti...not quite that bad in this scenerio, but not much better either, (you'll know what I mean mean if you read the history). I'm not sure I aimed realistically for Space Travel, but its sighted towards the late 21st century.

I agree that the most possible near future conflict,may occur between China,Russia,Korea and the United States with Europe somewhere in the middle.I think it already started.Colonization maybe not so near but will defenetly happen starting from the moon with basic installations continuing to Mars if the readings of water with the form of ice in the poles of the planet is true.I will say again that this is a possibility far ahead and I think its in the humans nature to explore and expand concidering the way we live as a specie -moving to a territory,consuming all the natural resourses,multiply and then the only way to survive is moving on to a new place- Maybe after 100 years our survivor depends on that.
Maybe SoG idea had some political or technical faults but I think the hole idea is very realistic and has the potentials of a great mod.
