NOTW XLV: The DOOM Project

You seem more scummy, and I hate to lynch a townie for policy, but if that is what it takes to make the lynch system work and classical_hero gives us no reason not to lynch him, I will have to comply. This is ridiculous, we are unable to lynch anyone for the last 3 turns, despite having piles of information. So, may classical hero please speak up? Also, what is the case against him even built on?

The reason I am almost certain that he is not scum is that his first turn lynch vote was for Mergel. Scum would not nightkill someone who one of them tried to lynch earlier, since that would make him look suspicious. It is possible that the mafia reversed this psychology, but from reading past threads, the town rarely goes to level 2 of this logic, meaning that it is bad for the mafia to take it to level 3, as than they get killed by a level 1 town. On the other hand, killing someone for whom one townie voted could get both the townie they killed (by mafia) and the townie that voted (by level 1 town lynch) killed. That said, right now we are a level 0 town, unable to lynch anyone, so level 1 is an improvement.:crazyeye:

That is classic Wine In Front of Me. However, you do make the point that I have forgotten about what the case against Classical is because of the ruddy server.

Update post edited once again.

I apologize again for the ambiguity; I posted the update with the intent to edit information in, but the server failures locked me out. I barely was able to have the item votes listed correctly. It should be clear now.

Posting via mobile. I will send PMs when pc access returns. If not, i will rewrite everything tonight on my mobile phone and send the PMs that way.

Thank you all for your patience.

NinjaCow, spaceman, please stop posting, it's night. We're only allowed to post about rules in NotW, not making alliances and such.

PMs have been sent.

Thanks everyone for your patience! It means a lot to me!

Night 03 will end in approximately 28 hours. I want to give players enough time to get situated because of the recent server/computer problems.

Chapter ??

The convoy proceeded onward through the desert hills, weaving its way across the empty landscape. It was quite the impressive sight; as a member of the expedition, it made you feel significant, with the number of vehicles moving together towards the same objective.

You're sitting next to a civilian, a scientist of ancient cultures. You don't know him -- and he's certainly not a mercenary -- but you feel obligated all the same to make small talk.

"So, what are we looking for?" you call out, over the roar of the truck's engine and the howls of the desert winds.

"A temple. Or some other sort of religious complex," the man answers. "It dates back several thousand years. It's going to be a monumental finding for sure! Hopefully, it is preserved well enough for us to gather important information about subsaharan ancient cultures."

You raise an eyebrow. "Now, I'm no expert, but I don't know of any subsaharan empires that existed so long ago."

The archaeologist perks up. "Indeed! But that is the point. Hopefully, we can use this site as a stepping stone to understand whatever cultures existed here so long ago. Perhaps they dwelt along the Niger River before even the great empires that existed there during the ancient periods we understand. Maybe this site can give us some important information regarding their religion and daily life."

You pause for a moment, thinking about the situation. It seems like an important expedition -- uncovering the work of ancient peoples from so long ago.

Thinking longer about it, however, you find one important hole in the reasoning of the scientist.

"You say it`s a temple, correct?" you ask him. "Or some sort of ancient building of popular demand?"

"Yes," he responds.

"Well," you mutter, "why would anyone build such an important structure in the middle of the God-forsaken desert?"

The archaeologist has no response.

Night 03

Deeper the operatives go, looking for any information regarding the Relics that they must find. After moving in such a large group last Night, this evening they split into several groups to recon different rooms in the site.

During the Night, gunfire could be heard from the center of the complex; it eventually ceases.

In the morning, the mercenaries awaken for their early morning role call; one of them doesn't respond.

Seon passed away!

Spoiler :
He was a BLUFOR Hacker!

Nonetheless, though they lost one of their number, there was some good news; Relic #1 has been found!

Day 04 begins now, lasting 48 hours.
Please allow a few moments for thread information to be updated.

Vote for a lynch target in Bold.
Vote for a Commander in Blue.
Vote for someone to hold Relic #1 in Orange.
Vote for someone to hold the Flares in Red.
Vote for someone to hold the Climbing Gear in Teal.
Provide a move order in Green.

* * *
Lots of items found; hopefully it isn't too much of an inconvenience. It's not *necessary* for you to color code the item votes, so long as you implicitly name the item and player who you are voting for, though coloring makes it a bit easier.

This is what I got from one of the other corners of the triangle at the digsite

Seeing the great battle about to unfold, and knowing that it would even hold influence over his own domain, Satan marched his armies forth from Hell to the desert plains. With his forces in full battle regalia, he negotiated with God: his armies would fight along with Heaven's angels against this vile enemy, so long as the vanquished foe would be kept locked away on Earth rather than sent back to Hell; Satan made this offer because he understood the damage that would be caused when The Fiend's chief lieutenant could no longer command on the battlefields of Hell. God knew that, without Satan's Legions, the Earth would become a ruined world of war and strife, so he accepted the deal; for he knew that there was one way to keep Spiritus-Raptor locked away on Earth.
Seems to me it tells the story of an apocalypse gone wrong type of thing with Spiritus-Raptor being the main bad guy. Perhaps the relics are some way of locking him up so he can't return?

I did not factor the Fourth of July into the deadline for this day; if anyone feels the deadline should be extended because of the holiday, please feel free to PM me and I will adjust it accordingly.

We found the Relic and the Flares at Receiving, and a note telling us the Flashlight we voted to Visorslash yesterday was exactly where we found it.

So now I wonder: What happened to the USB Drive Seon had?

We need to lynch someone today. It seems majority opinion is in favor of lynching classical_hero. Is that still so? If so, I will not interfear, but I have yet to see any evidence as to why he sould be lynched.

That is a really good question, mate.

I've forgotten the original reason why we wanted him lynched, but that above post tips off my scumdar, so I propose we Vote: classical_hero If he is scum, kill spaceman. If not, kill me. Deal, mate?

dcmort93 for relic and dcmort93 for leader. A little unorthodox, sure, but he's the only one of you clodgers I trust execpt for me, mates.

NinjaCow64 for the other items and Chamber Three so we can march forward, mate.

The flashlight is apparently a heavy duty underwater flashlight. Probably going to be necessary in exploring the lake.

Personal problems, so will be AWOL for awhile, this goes for all my ongoing games. I will check in as often as I can.

However, quick proposition.

BigTin, Classical Hero and Spaceman are scum.

BigTin holds a relic that we are searching for, (and considering he was never given one...? scum.) Classical Hero is scum and so is spaceman because spaceman (doesn't see the lynch, scum wording, been there done that, he's scum) and because both defended classical.

Go, lynch kill scum.

Vote: BigTin
Vote: Visorslash for leader
Move: Chamber Four
Visorslash for gear
Visorslash for relic
Visorslash for flares

Hold on, I don't have a relic. There is no proof that I do so tell me Visorslash, where does this accusation come from?

And you vote yourself for leader, not exactly a good move, plus you vote everything to yourself as well. If you were truly innocent you would realize that certain roles can make better usage of these items than you. Yes one may benefit you, but all of them? I think not.

I feel dcmort93 should be our leader and he should have the relic as well, but should all the relics be in one place? I don't trust anyone else to have the relic though, and if I give it to myself I know you will all scream I am scummy so for now dcmort93 can have the relic. I will hold off on the rest of the votes until someone comes forth who can properly use these items. However I will Move: Chamber 3

Vote: classical_hero
Vote: dcmort93
Move: Chamber Three
I'll go monkeying around with the climbing gear.
topsecret
I don't think we should give dcmort everything. If he dies, the mafia could get every relic...
