I give it about 5 years. The tensions are rising, the Russian nationalism is growing, the need to find new foreign enemies is getting more pressing in Russia.
First they'll give Russian passports to ethnic Russians, then they'll provoke the Ukrainian gov. into some sort of reaction which they can paint as "aggressive" and then they'll try to take Crimea from Ukraine (officially it will become independent, in practice it will be annexed by Russia just as the two Georgian separatist provinces).
This is one possible scenario, the other one is that they re-establish pro-Kremlin puppet government in whole Ukraine.
The West will do nothing, since major Western players are currently in appeasement mood.
How very prescient and perfect timing. I am quite impressed.
Russia is clearly no longer interested in imperialism and warmongering. They have far too many domestic problems to be looking for more in other countries.
Perhaps that is exactly why they invaded?
I don't think Russia would invade Crimea outright. They'd be much subtler in their control of it.

So, how far does this go? Will the Russians be back in Киев? I'd like to hear from Winner the most, he was right.
