It won't be cheating since by them time I'll reach that point everyone else will reach it within a turn or two. I just don't like this yearly generation :p

News For Each Region

North America
North America had many people that were eager to have a new console, to have something to play video games with other than at an arcade or on an expensive computer. North America also had many, many skeptics. They believed that the industry was doomed; that any new foray into the business was futile. Many new game companies started to spring up across the continent, while at the same time the people that were behind the old consoles and games watched on with interest, hoping that the new start-ups didn't repeat the same mistakes as them.

Early in the year, North America saw the launch of The Box. The console sold admirably well, moving over 150,000 units in a market that was still wary from the last game crash. While the console didn't sell out, it is still quite hard to find in stores.

Silent Service, a Box exclusive, became the first game for the Box for many new console owners. The game stood out with the fact that it included limited environment interaction, a feature that isn't too common yet.

Commie Wars, the second game released for The Box saw decent sales, but not enough to turn much of a profit yet. It is expected to continue to sell however, as it has yet to be released on HiGrax (see Japan).

Both TIRC and Nexus Systems put money into recruiting skilled individuals from the local areas, and for the most part, both saw a rise in the skill level of their developers. (+1 Employee skill for TIRC and Nexus Systems)

Europe
Europe, while not as much as North America, also welcomed this new attempt at home consoles, and the continent saw a fair share of studios form. There is still a lot of room left in Europe for new game studios however.

The Box saw a limited release in Europe, as TIRC was hindered by its inability to ship more than a couple of tens of thousands consoles. The 25,000 that were shipped sold out however. Both Commie Wars and Silent Service had respectful showings in Europe.

TeaTime Incorporated started to develop a new console of its own, but it will be a long time before it is ready for release.

Japan
Japan was more than ready to return to consoles games. Many thought that it was only a matter of time before home consoles became an even bigger business than they were pre-crash. For the last few years they had been waiting anxiously for a new console to enjoy games on, and it looked like they were finally about to get their chance. They were then disappointed when they learned that they would have to wait a bit longer before most of them could get their hands on a console.

In a surprise move Kingdom Inc. opted to delay the release of its console, to many's dismay. As a result City Simulation and Commie Wars (the HiGrax version) were delayed. There were many advertisements for both the console and City Simulation though; hype has started to build for them.

The Box made a small appearance near the end of April in Japan, and it sold most of the consoles that were shipped, which wasn't much.

OOC: I decided to go with the update style that Luckymoose used in his NES. Feel free to suggest another update style that you think would be better. Comments are welcome. Stats shall be done shortly.

Next orders are due Saturday.

Great update! You should have E3 kind of update later on. Or magazine, but not like how Lucky did his but simple text based.

Nice job. I'll have to think up some ideas now...
