What is this all about?

It looks like someone logged in as RyuMaster666 to sabatage the civ so that whiplash could destroy them the next turn?

Some people. Firstly thank you Francis for spotting that.

I am now considering three actions.

1) Kicking Whiplash as a cheat.

2) dialling the game back to before that intrusion as Ryu

3) Both

I decided this needs investigation.


I have loaded the game both before and after the Ryu intrusion,

The situation before was Whiplash had a warrior camped outside the mayan city with an archer approaching. The mayans had a warrior entrenched inside.

The situation after was that the Mayan warrior had been destroyed after attacking the Dutch warrior in the forest. This attack had a 3.3% chance of success.

So either some knucklehead decided to join the game late, and do a suicide attack, or we have a treacherous mis-use of an AI ?

I will think on this a bit. But My first thought is how can I lock the AIs?

In another game I am playing whip double turned me... Which is fine because it isn't against the rules. So next time around I log in early to double turn him back. Then he complains about it and says it that I triple turned him. LOL

So what do you think on the current dilemma ?

Well if you look at the log records.
No one logged in as that civ since Aug 30th.
For that guy to come out of no where take back over his civ from the AI launch a suicide attack and then turn it back over too AI without saying a word about it to anyone seem unlikely. Whip seems good at twisting situations to meet his goals. What I think is that whip is a budding politician perhaps we should elect him president.

I'm not in this game but I've played many games with Whip over the years from early Civ III until now & it would be totally out of character for him to do that.
It seems far more likely to me that somebody passed by at the wrong time.

If I were to pull a stunt like that I would have done it several turns earlier. I patiently built an archer for the kill while my warrior just sat there for several turns as is attested to by Troy's account of the play turn.

I was planning on knocking him off with the archer/warrior combo. I was quite surprised to find the city empty a turn before my archer was to arrive. I just brushed it off as "hey the AI is a dumbbell". I never noticed the entry of RyuMaster666.

I am not in this game either but as this thread was referenced by another thread to lay evidence against Whiplash ... I have to comment.

I have known Whiplash in the CIV gaming community for years. He simply would never intentionally cheat in this game or any other. He is the most honourable of CIV players.

You can not state any of those things as fact when it is impossible to know, especially when you look at whom benefited from the situation. Here is a fact for you Whip accused me of cheating when in fact I did not. To me that reaks of dishonor.

Point of curiosity:

How would bbfrancis suspect any sabotage? That can't be detected by the game log on civstats. The log would look exactly the same if I had attacked and took the city. I think that is natural conclusion to arrive at.

The "sabotage" was only revealed by the host examining the saves after bbfrancis sounded the alert.
