The original item appears below in italics. The changed version is below that in bold.

SECTION D THE LEGISLATIVE BRANCH

Point 1) The Senate (Governors)

B) Governors do not have Deputies but may appoint an Acting Governor when unable to fulfill their duties. The Acting Governor has all powers and responsibilities of the Governor but is a temporary position and must surrender their acting status upon the request of the governor.

B) Each province will have a deputy governor. The deputy governor assumes all powers and responsibilities of the governor during the absence of the governor.

Section H Appointed Positions

Point 4)Acting Governor
(a) Appointed by Provincial Governor
(b) Confirmed by a poll of the citizenry. Simple majority required.

This entire point will be deleted.

Poll duration
This poll will remain active for a minimum of 48 hours or until a quorum is reached, whichever comes later.

So does this mean that if enough candidates are not available to fill the Deputy Governor position that the Province is breaking the Law?

We saw last term some provinces DESPERATELY needed depudy governors. This amendment allows the vaccum to be filled when the governor dissapears. SOME provinces didn't have this problem :) but SOME DID :(

During the time the governor is there (all the time hopefully) the depudy can take on other positions like any other depudies. I think the reason we saw so many uncontested provinces is that there is no fallback position of depudy and because you can only run in one election, if you runner up in a provincial election, you get NOTHING.

*bump*

This poll has been up for over 48 hours and has achieved a quorum of responses. Therefore, the poll is officially closed. Results at time of closing are 11 YES, 9 NO and 0 ABSTAIN. This does not satisfy the 2/3 majority requirement for modifications to the Code of Laws. This measure is not passed.
