House Olafsson: known also as House Barefoot, symbolise by a simple Norse cross symbol. This house has taking its name from Magnus Olafson, also known as Magnus Barefoot or Magnus III of Norway between 1093-1103. The first Emperor of Man, Michael the Storming, hailed from this house as he forced all other factions that strived for control of the Isle of Man during the Manx Troubles. A long tradition house that lost its keep to the throne with its third emperor, Magnus II who lost it to Ysbal of House Balor. Nevertheless the house maintained prestige with the Prince Barony of Rushen; although it lost its power the blood of House Barefoot was declared holy thanks to the rising Imperial Church of Man, whom resulted in causing the other houses to try to marry with House Barefoot in a attempt to divine their own blood. Such prestige could especially benefit minor houses. Despite this the current Prince Baroness of Rushan, Lucy Barefoot, opposes the cultism that has sprung around her house and has been openly critical of the Imperial Church of Man’s state religious imposment, epsecilly in how House Urley has been using the imperial cult as a means to their “divine mandate.” Yet it shows the power of House Barefoot that Lucy has been able to stand up to House Urley with the fear of retaliation being in Urley’s heart, in knowing that their “divine blood” method requires the continued prosperity of House Barefoot.
House Balor: symbolise by the hawk sweeping towards the symbol of Pluto. Taken its name from the evil deity from Irish mythology, for the house origated as a bastard offspring of House Kermeen with its founder, the daugture of Johna Balor and a guardsman, Ysbal. Ysbal however would turn the insult surname imposed on her into a symbol most devastating as a series of intrigue allowed her to not only marry her way into connectivity with House Olafsson (thanks to her catching the eye of Magnus II’s brother, Germot) but played Germot against Magnus II, which resulted in Germot slaying Magnus but Ysball able in turn to force Germot into exile to avoid the wroth of the populace. With aid of a army provided by her true love, Brian O’Connor, Ysbal took the thrown and began a dynasty. However she would be the only member of House Balor to have kept the throne has she herself was forced off it by the then head of the O’Connor family and her successor, Roger. The house however has managed to make itself powerful, having claimed arch-dukedom of Northern England. The house is known for its Neopaganism and occultism, its current head Ysball, like the Empress she shares the name with, stand as a block to the Imperial Church of Man in northern England, as Ysbal converts the likes of Lancaster into paganism.
House O'Connor: symbolised with the Irish harp along with a cross and triskelion. The Ulster O’Connor family had gained influence into the Manx imperium by their voluntary surrender of Ulster to the Imperium, allowing them in return the reward of dukedom of Ulster. This was eventually leaded to the archdukedom of Ireland, although they have lost that title to the infamous House Flanagon. Still this is overshadowed by the five monarchs the O’Connor family had on the throne, making them the most royal house in terms of how many emperors although length is a different togother for that is currently held by House Barefoot. O’Connor managed to ally with Ysbal Balor, providing her the throne for 12 years before betraying her to place Roger O’Connor on the throne. He himself was succeeded by first his son Patrick I but after his death came his sister Vorgell the Wealthy. She would be succeeded by Magnus III but he was murdered by his brother Patrick, who came the second of that name to take the throne but his blood came to the cost; his kinslaying made him unpopular, allowing House Urley to exploit for their own imperial rise. Indeed Patrick’s uncle, Archduke Thomas II of Ireland, would lose his title to a similar claimant rise by John Flanagon. Now the Duchess Mawde of Ulster rules with envy for her house’s lost power but the regel influence of House O’Connor is still ever present.
House Urley: symbolist by a totally-not-Nazi-eagle with triskelion totally not replacing another legged symbol. House Urley is an offshoot of the minor House Gellen, whose only connection House Urley know keeps is the dark green and a triskelion surrounded, although House Gellen’s triskelion was surrounded by a ring of fish instead of a totally-not-Nazi- laurel wreath. Illiam Gellen sprang House Urley thanks to his conversion to the Imperial Church of Man (to opposing to his house’s strong Methodists conviction) and his marriage to Alice Barefoot, which he felt declared himself as the father “of a house more divine indeed.” This has meant for the time the house was among the most loyal but also very judgemental, especially during the O’Connor era which they criticised for “lacking Barefoot blood.” Eventually this sprang into Margerat Urley succeeding in taking Patrick II’s throne, proclaiming herself empress “by divine blood and right.” Margerat the Ordained would symbolise the houses’ style; she replaced the Manx secret police, the Imperial Security Consul, with the infamous Black Hand of Man which bought out quotas and introduced forced labour camps as a means of punishment for minor crimes and dissent, as oppose to major crimes and dissent as it was originally focused for. Her successor, Sylvester, hopes to live up to her authoritarian dream while reclaiming the whole of Wales, uniting the Isles of Man and beginning a colonial venture.
House Broojey: symbolised by a ram head. A minor house that gradually worked its way to the top end by aid of its merchant links and through its long status as the prime provider of the Emperor’s grand treasurers since the of Empress Vorgell O’Connor. It original lacked land claimants but has recently received governing of the Black Country and is promised the archduchy of south England if the house continues to be loyal to the emperors. Yet loyalty is relied on House Broojey’s quest for wealth leads some to question whether their loyalty is a front to carry out their ambitions. Its current head, Duke Ean of Haraford, has converted recently to the Imperial Church of Man openly but it is not known of his private believes are there.
House Miracle: symbolise with a Welsh dragon under a cross. Ysbal claimed Wales in her reign and gave the title of the first Archduchess of Wales to Gwenda Miracle, who had rallied behind Ysbal’s conquest. Yet they would only dominate for so long, for they rebelled for independence in the reign of Roger, whom they feared tyranny for House Miracle’s close links to Ysbal. The rebellion co-ordinated with House Cain; the result was a defeat of Idwal Miracle of Wales, while the membership of House Cain dropped with ‘accidents’ occurring. As punishment Idwal was stripped of the Archduchy of Wales, which was instead converted into the ownership of the new title of Imperial Doge that was given to provide control any minor Welsh families by opening up the doors to a quasi merchant republican esc system in a part of the Imperium. Yet House Miracle still processes stranglehold over the baronies of north Wales and with the recent rebellion of south Wales will now have the chance to spring a return of influence, if not to take the hold of Wales again then to become a major player in Manx colonial efforts.
House Gilander: symbolised with an Irish cross. A humble young house that emerged from Ramsey this was a minor house until recently with colonial ambition allowing the house’s naval influences to expand into the imperial courts. The current Lord Mayor of Ramsey Illiam Gilander also serves as Grand Admiral of the Imperial Navy. Gilander has recently came to the interests of the Urley Dynasty; indeed the Emperor Syvlevester married Elenora of House Gilander and has promished Grand Admiral Illiam Gilander that his children will be granted duchies and maybe even a grand duchy as the Imperium of Man goes beyond the Isles of Man. Yet this young house is at a opportunity; they are seen as clean, which has led to rumour of intrigue on their part as they influence the systems. They already have house members in serving both the Imperial Church of Man (many of their excess children were given places within the Imperial Church’s monasteries) and the Protestant Archbishop of York, Patrick. Such holy influences are but a possible stepping stone to control the hearts and minds of the imperial populace.
House Kermeen: symbolised by Irish regel heart crown symbol with a triskelion in the centre. Began as a minor house in the imperial capital of Peel of courtiers but were granted by Ysbal the promise of not just the county of Yorkshire but the dukedom, reinforced by granting them access to control of regal administration in the Lake District in preparation. Originally seen as a rival to House O’Connor, complete with a failed attempt at the throne during Vorgell’s reign, yet they were shown mercy and only stripped of their claims to the Imperial Throne, not their holdings they gain with the duchy of Yorkshire.
House Flanagon: symbolised by the eye over a Celtic cross. Spawning in Eastern Ireland this house came from the commercial successors it held in Manx industrialisation efforts and in a series of ‘accidents’ that befell its rival, the now in ruins and on verge of extinction House Cane. The Flanagon family have risen with domination of Ireland, removing the O’Connor hold from the archdukedom with the blessing of Empress Maragert Urley. Now Archduke Gilmore governs Ireland and serves as the Imperial Chancellor to Emperor Sylvester. House Flanagon has not made comment on its critics proclaiment that Gilmore is eyeing the imperial throne for his son Magnus, along with the noted “accidents” the critics tend to suffer. Although they reject the Imperial Church of Man they strongly follow the concept of Divine Right but this is married with a ruthless dream that they are among the more godly family in the Imperium.
House McMeekin: symbolised by the Scottish thistle. When Scotland suffered the chaos McMeeking rose as a crime dynasty in Glasgow exploiting the discord for profit, which allowed them to acquire their own little private army. The McMeekin rose to nobledom in co-operation with Manx expansion into Scotland. Among their duties the McMeekin betrayed their criminal past, executing even their own gang followers in order to demonstrate their bow to the new empire. Now proclaimed with the archduchy of Scotland the McMeekin govern with pride. Archduke Sean McMeekin hopes that once Scotland is fully secured he will be granted permission to send his youngest child, Allan, to Iceland in order to bring that country to imperial rule and, more importantly, to see a McMeeking governing the potential geothermal industry that would benefit the empire.
