Is going for theocracy (In Piety social policy tree. Get -20% from population, but you have to get organized religion first) good in a domination game? Or is it better to just invest in rationalism or autocracy or order?
For what purpose do naval units have melee strength? As I understand it, they cannot engage in melee combat...

So I am in a game where I had 3 coastal cities +3 hammer (Merchant Navy) and +5 Communism policies and while my building times were quick, do you lose the hammer bonuses from factories and Plants after running out of strategic resources like coal and aluminum?
Also, how come they don't limit National Wonders to the two per city anymore? Now you just spam them in the capital to maximize the bonuses. Makes for bad game play.
Question: If you "liberate" a captured AI settler from barbarians and choose to take it to yourself, you get a worker unit, not a settler. Does the same apply to the the AI if you choose to return it? That is, does the unit type of a liberated unit change for the AI as well?
In most cases you of course want to keep the unit, but there was a situation in which I needed to escort the free worker for quite a long distance with a military unit which was still positioned to scout new territory... If the AI gets a worker, the diplomacy bonus might have been worth it - giving back a settler helps the AI a bit too much
Thanks in advance!
I have recently started playing immortal difficulty, after winning constantly on the lower levels. Does anyone know if there is any sort of "attack" bonus for the AI on this difficulty? I find I am loosing swordsman and horseman to the AI's single attack from Archer's and other weaker units. I am sure this didn't happen on Emperor. It's hard enough to raise a decent army and not go bankrupt. If they get attack bonus as well, I dont think that is right.
Any advice for this level is appreciated
Do workers acquired from other Civs work slower than your own?
