I had a really nice game going, played late into the night, saved it. All my previous saves came up as about 200K in the menu (I saved, played another turn, saved again because it was late and I really should go to bed etc.).
I turned on again and the saved game wouldn't load: I got a crash straight to desktop. I installed the patch and tried again. Now I get a message telling me 'failed to uncompress game data', and the save file now reads as 1383 large, with no units listed. After trying to load the game crashes to desktop again.
Can anyone tell me what's wrong, if I can recover my file and how I stop it happening again with a game I'm halfway through? Please?
Oh yes, I forgot about trying the autosaves until I had already been playing another game for a few turns, so all the autosaves are overwritten.
