Ok so I'm no noob here - been playing since Civ2 and before BNW I was comfortably playing games on Emperor. I feel like this game has been made fantastic for later ages, but I'm really struggling early/Ancient era.
There is just too much to do/build. I was very comfortable with the Tradition or Liberty opening depending on what I wanted to do. I guess I'm just a little overwhelmed with the new wonders/units (trade routes especially and the need to build even larger military to protect them). I find myself falling quickly behind with no strong focus.
Random aside: has anyone else found that science production has been seriously scaled back? Recent multiplayer game where my buddy and I were the science leaders saw it was almost 1900 and neither of us had over 300 beakers and were very surprised - public schools in all cities, etc. Just wondering.
