Is there any reason to horde duplicate resources (aside from corporate revenue)? Do the bonuses stack, or does having one source serve the same purpose as having several?

You do get more bonuses from corps, but the only other reason to horde more resources... is to prevent your rivals from having them. Then you can trade them to a civ that wants it for something you want (but don't have). If you trade a resource, you still get the :hammers::commerce::food: in the tile the resource is located on.

If they don't have anything good to trade for them, then ask for gold. It's a GOOD thing to trade them the singles, even if they can't offer that much. It makes them dependent on 'em, and you can just pull it out from under them if they get too strong.

Wouldn't it be better not to let them get strong in the first place by not giving them the resource?

Yes it would - except they might buy a different happy resource off someone else... or they might use the gold for nuclear research instead... and who knows you might need the gold yourself... so it depends on a few things... usually I'd sell 'em the singles, who knows your customers might end up with some Milli Vanilli and have a revolt on their hands :D
