And so, our struggles began. In the First Year of the Age of Rebirth, the Elohim found ourselves in a valley.
To the north lay a source of untapped Mana. The Elohim were proficient with such things, but even our skills could not compare with those of the weakest empires during the long-forgotten Age of Magic. A source of Wheat and Deer for farming and hunting lay to the west, while Cotton could be spotted growing not far to the east. The most surprising of all observations, however, were the Ruins. These ancient remnants of Ages past were said to contain many secrets...one of which were evil Lizardmen. A team of Warriors was sent south to destroy the Ruins. Past a small lake, fires could be spotted. Perhaps another fledgling Kingdom? Or merely a small village which escaped the horrors of the Age of Ice? Scouts were sent to investigate. Within a few months, news from both parties returned. The villagers had most happily accepted our Scouts, who returned in excitement. The villagers had survived through the knowledge of Agriculture, which they had so kindly imparted to our Scouts!
The scouting had also revealed a few resources to the north, a good site for a second city. However, we had not even settled our first! The decision was made to move west, in order to cultivate the Wheat sooner with out new-found skills. And so, the great city of Cahir Abbey was founded.
The Scouts headed west, past the Deer herds, while the Warriors, triumphant and bloodthirsty after the destruction of the ruins, headed north. Our brash Warriors somehow made an impressions on another village; they imbued our Warriors with a deep sense of Mysticism, another memory of the previous Ages.
Our Scouts found a patch of ice hidden in the forest, a frozen clearing. Distant roars of polar bears awakening from their dens could be heard. Wanting nothing to do with the savage beasts, our Scouts fled.
