Do you find it hard to adopt other policies in between Tradition and Rationalism?

I can't live without Tradition unless I am doing an early war game. I can live without rationalism though. It gets boring taking the same thing all the time. I almost always fill out Tradition and then take two Patronage to open the Forbidden Palace and make allying with CSs easier. After that, it depends on the game I want to play. It'll be between Commerce, Aesthetics, or Rationalism. I do occasionally take Piety depending on the civ I am playing and what I am trying to do.
