Yesterday i randomed Korea and i must say with the new Guilds there are even more awesome. Now you dont only get Culture from the Slots but also +2 sience per Slot filled.
Should make a sience Victory a breeze.
They only downside on a Watermap is that you cant explorer since you get the Turtle Ship that cant enter deep Water and i gues i will have a hard time getting leader of the World Congress.

Sience the Ais always go Arts funding anyways even when they dont have much torurism.
 
If you're having problems exploring on water maps, your trying the wrong map scripts.

Both the large island script & the tiny island script normally draw a map in which every single starting landmass is accessible pre Astronomy.
But some of the routes will be very indirect (like being 2 1/2 times as long as the route a Caravel can take); and will require open borders.

The world congress is likely to be founded the moment anyone researches the required tech on these scripts.

Yes, the side effect of everyone wanting to run guild specialists is a minor boost to both Korea and the policy within Rationalism that also boosts all science.
 
That's the trade off you get for getting extra specialist science :)

Or you can simply find Navigation earlier than others using their awesome UA :D
