Does hitting "f" turn off intercept on fighters?

I tend to hit f a lot on all units cause it just fortifies them unless i accidentally hit it on a plane, in which case it goes to sleep. wtf

Units that can't fortify go to sleep, when you hit f. If you want your fighters to intercept, you have to put them on intercept.

If you hit i you could put fighters on intercept.

It's annoying though. Why not make f and i both intercept for fighters.
