The Hydra is an anti-aircraft artillery unit from the Warhammer 40,000 universe. It's used by the Imperial Guard.

I'm not 100% happy with this unit so I'll probably redo it at a later date.

The unit includes Default, Fidget, Fortify, Attack, Victory and Death animations, pedia pics, sounds and a units32.

You can get it below :goodjob:

EDIT - The Units32 pcx is on post 4 (I stuck a bitmap in the above zip instead of the Units32 ... dumb or what?)

What could you possibly not like about this? It looks great :D

Maybe I should just play the 40K game. How can I not use these units? A question about responsible use, though: are AA units land or air? I know that if I'm playing the Civ and make it able to intercept, it doesn't matter, but what will the AI accept?

Thanks! :goodjob: But you do set the standard very, very high for us mere mortals :D

@Manny Kant - If you've got the Conquests version of CivEdit (I'm not sure about earlier versions) you should see "Air Defense Str" in the Units Statistics box of the Units tab. This will allow your land unit to shoot down attacking air units :)

me thinks it look good

Me is n00b, where do you put everything?

Huh. NEver posted on this when it was new. Well, I will now.

No. Its based the Games Workshop Imperial Gaurd Hydra. Because that is what it is.

..Um.... did you.. miss.. the Giant Pack of Space Marines he relased in march?

ya no kiddin....3d animating, rendering, converting to a pcx, then to a flic, and testing it takes up quiet a bit of time...I mean I flash animate its no problem but when I go do 3d its time consuming

You are soooo right. People should stop thinking of units as 'rather cool' and start thinking about them as anything up to 30 hours work ... each.
