Foreign Ministry Poll: Avert Zulu War?

There is a build-up of Zulu troops on our Northern border. How do we want to handle this threat --- peacefully or by force?

Please select one or more of the above trade/diplomacy options. The Trade Department would need to approve the release of a luxury if that part of the measure passes. Any options that receive 50% of total respondents will be added to the diplomatic agreement.

This poll will run for 24 hours and is timed to end at the commencement of Monday's chat.

I say just 1gpt. They are going to want to walk through our lands no matter what we give them, so it doesn't really matter. I think they will declare when we ask them to leave.

They aren't that POed at us yet. Sending our troops to meet theirs might be a bigger incentive for them to go.

But gentlemen, there has been a call by many to raise the attitudes of others toward our great nation. Why would you not want to sign on to luxury deal? We have plenty of money, so blind capitalism is no excuse...... :confused:

I say we need to give the Zulus a package, MPP, ROP and Luxury (Coconuts, Bananas, AK47?).
Our long border dictates either a stable and solid relationship, or a chaotic one.
The French are easier to handle with a small border.
You guys not willing to commit either way to the Zulus, War or MPP, you create an untenable situation which will worsen over time. I prefer a war to get over with it, or you guys get to grips and commit to the Zulus. They just offered an MPP.

You're not the only one confused around here - from what I can see we can't sign a luxury deal as we have no luxuries they want!

That leaves 1gpt and possibly a MPP. Please no ROP, I personally believe they will declare anyway and do not wish to enable them to ROP rape us.

I will ask Moderator to change my vote to MPP and 1 Gold, in light of Furieys infuriatingly new information. My mother told me not to trust strange women, but I will do one of my many exceptions for Furiey here. She knows her Civ-stuff.

However, with MPP, I am certain a RoP would be safe too.

Voted for Lux and a 1GPT. Though I would have to go along with the MPP. If there is enough support that everyone wants to switch there votes to a MPP only option, I will consider changing the instructions.

I vote for 1 gpt. If we had luxuarys i would say give them as well. I dont think a right of passage will keep the Zulus from attacking us. And well i just dont like the idea of mutual protection pacts with a nation poised to invade us. I belive the only thing that will stop the war would be a military allaince against someone else. and doing that is crazy.

I didnt relise that, in that case iam against the giving of 1 gold. Its to late. war is coming nothing will stop them except for our army. I dont like violence iam a bussiness man. blood is a big expence. Lets just stop the zulus, then make the peace. If we had good foriegn policy from the start we wouldnt be in the mess (vote nobody)
