Should we switch Battlefield Medicine and build Shakespeare's Theatre?

Recently a call has gone up to acquire Free Artistry and build Shakespeare's Theatre (the discussion is right here). The plan is to switch Epolenep's production of Battefield Medicine (which finishes in 8 Turns) to Shakespeare's Theatre (which it would build in 9 Turns). Battlefield Medicine would then be built by Odawara, which is currently building a pointless Hydro Plant (3 Turns from redundant completion). Odawara could build BM in ~5 Turns. MoC approves of building Shake's in Epolenep to reinforce our border with the Babylonians (it's possible we could get those horses back), and it will allow us to build Battlefield Medicine sooner than it would have taken in Epolenep.

NOTE: This plan is dependent on Trade acquiring Free Artistry by the next Turnchat. If that does not happen, the results of this poll will obviously be invalid.

-Yes, this plan sounds excellent, let's do it at once.
- Yes, this plan sounds good, but I have a better idea where to build Battlefield Medicine.
- No, this plan sucks, how dare you propose this filth.
- Abstain, I can't stand the pressure of public polls.

Er... The Next Turnchat is Tommorow... The Poll will still have 23 Hours (or more) Remaining when the TC takes place.

Actually, Shake's Theater would only take 5 turns to complete in Epolenep (253 shields have already been accumulated, and at 31 spt it would only take 5 turns to reach 400 shields).

From a cultural perspective, Odawara obviously isn't in a prime location for building Battlefield Medicine as opposed to... well take your pick, there are a lot of better places. But! It only produces one culture per turn, and will never produce more than that.

Unless WW breaks out, where almost every city is bombed to hell with nukes. Nations are torn apart and the land becomes complete desert. Populations fall from the billions to the thousands, and technology is at a stand still. The lack of resources forces us to build longbowmen and spears, but they even take 20+ turns to complete. If our civ survives, maybe one of the few cities left will contain our Battlefield Medicine. In this situation, there is a teeny tiny chance that the small wonder might, one day, produce 2 culture per turn.

So I really don't see how culture is a factor here for Battlefield Medicine. What is more important is building it ASAP for the coming war, and future wars. So... DO IT!

Right. I realize the timing is pretty tight. My plan is to take the results as they stand at 5pm and post on the TCIT then. If the results change but 7pm, I will let you know in the TC itself.

Hm, yes, I believe you're right. Well, 5 Turns, 9 Turns. The idea is the same. As for Battlefield Medicine, the MoC does not consider something that gives 1 culture per turn (aka, half a temple) to be all that useful in culture wars. So the location is only dependant on production. Shakespeare's Theatre, on the other hand, gives 8 culture per turn, so Epolenep is a perfect location for it.

How have 52 people viewed this thread, yet only 6 voted? Damn you lurkers! Come out of your holes and vote!! :D

I have viewed it several times (as I suspect you have), but I only voted once - so far anyways, now where did I leave my double logon....

You have a double login...you registered twice?

You know that you can be punished...that is against the forum rules.

I think he was joking.

I think Crimso's joke was in response to my joke about finding my double logon.

Just to be clear: I don't really have a double logon.

Oops! Too late to make a deciding vote. Oh well.

Sorry, Cyc. And to everyone who might have missed this poll until it was too late. I know it's not the perfect way to run things, but I felt speed was of the essence for this plan. Besides, if Culture likes it how could anyone disagree? :D

Sorry to all, I'm a day late. I was unable to check on CFC yesterday, and as such couldn't have reacted in time. Once more, I'm sorry to all.
