This is the Fall of Rome scenario, with AP on...so deal with it!

1889(GMT-7) Rome
James_I(GMT+11) Byzantium
fe333au(GMT+10) Celt
Theoden(GMT+1) Vandal
Magzi(GMT) Frank
John_J_Sheridan(GMT) Sassanid
GreyBeard(GMT-5) Hun
TyranusBonehead(GMT-6) Visigoth

OK, here we go GMT+10.00, Tasmania, Australia
I'm eager for another game

Are we talking about standard rules
1. No reloads
2. No treaties with AI for x turns unless they contact first. (assuming AI's)
3. no razing of cities

I don't know what is standard over here but:
- definitely no reloads
- hopefully we won't need any AI's, but if we do I don't mind abusing them with treaties.
- razing cities is standard practice with me unless we play WWII (no settlers in that game)

Where are u leaning towards wrt game type?

I'm thinking scenario could be good ... but if it is something like WWII then I would prefer that more than 1 person per team.

I'd be happy to play an epic game, but would prefer one of the scenarios. I don't like Sengoku or Napoleon much.

Hey -

If you'd like another player, I'm happy to add my $0.02.

WARNING: I am a "newbie" and, I've learned, better at the epic-size "building" games as opposed to the narrow/historical military-type games. Hope that's OK.

I'll send a PM with my info. I'm on EST (USA) if that helps.

Thanks,

Fab_

Lets try to narrow down what we want. Please post your comments. I would like to try (in no particular order)

Fall of Rome (upto 8 players, start with 20 units, you are eliminated if you lose 8 cities)
Mesopotamia (upto 7 players, start with 10 units, Wonder victory is on but you can also win killing enemy units)
Middle Ages (13 playable cives so we will have AIs, start with 15 units IIRC, you are eliminated if your 3 kings are killed)

I've not played either of them ... :hmm: Rome is played a bit so maybe one of the others ... and i like the idea of elimination

Regards :goodjob:

PBEMs only play 8 at most. You can do the middle ages but there are only 8 civs. I think there are a few mod versions of it here that might balance it better. I have played it but not the other 2. I have no preference between them though.

I have moddified the 8 player middle ages MP game so that there are only 4 human players. We have just started to test it on 1st Crusade . If you want I can send you the biq file. I could add another human player if you wanted 5, Loulong suggested that the Abbassids might be better as a Human but I'm not so sure. Playable civs are Germany, France, England and Denmark.

Well, Fe333au dosn't sound too excited about Rome, and I would rather not have any AI civs so how about Mesopotamia? I think we can get 7 people. If you want I can probably make it an 8 city elimination, but would rather not.

I actually don't mind ... I'm noobie to PBEM ... so anything is ok with me ... you set it up and I'm ready to Kick Out the Jams

My comment was directed more to the fact that there are already some Rome scenarios being played and to offer another game-type might attract additional players.

Cheers :goodjob:

Ok  in that case I'd like to do the Fall of Rome, probably on Emperor level to give the AI a chance.

LouLong just started a game on the fall of rome. His modifications to the game, he may be persuaded to share it if asked.

I'm fine with the standard set up. I think we will get 8 players.

Count me in too, GMT +1

BTW are you sure you want 8 players? That would mean rome and byzantine would be human civs.
