This is the Virginia Class nuclear powered guided missile cruiser (CGN). It was in service in the US Navy from the mid 1970s to the mid-late 1990s.

Here is the Pediacons, unit32, ini file and sounds.

I really like it...but is there a glitch in the missile arc? It is probably just me, but please let me know (so I can see what is wrong on my end). Always like good ships.

Glitch in the missile arc ? None that I see. Most missiles-if not all-that are launched from arm rail launchers, launch up at an angle. Unless you're referring to something entirely different.

The two guns are Mk 45 5"/54 (120mm). I think Civ specs should be under an Aegis Cruiser, at least in the TCW scenario, and any modern scenarios for that matter. The Virginia didn't get her Tomahawks until the early 1980s.

Ya like use the attack B until some tech comes along that allows missiles then make it upgradable to the newer version.........The two guns seem kinda weak....but what really shows power is Muffins oversized cannons that he always uses  but any ways ya just have it upgrade into its newer version with tomahawks

Actually, the missiles launching from the Mk26 GMLS (the twin armed rail launchers) could be the SM-2 anti-air missile or an asroc. The Viriginia received Harpoons later on as well, but they were launched from the Mk 141 system-basically a set of 4 tubes in a 2 on 2 arrangement.

vingrjoe,

this is fantastic. i love the missiles firing and see no glitches at all. it looks to me like there's 4 of them firing in total. great work as usual.

since the tomahawks came later, would you suggest that this follow a similar course as the Iowas w/ the "King" flag and upgradable?

what about possible stats? especially in comparison to the other TCW vessels...

Yup, there's four of those birds streaking off the launch rails.

I personally wouldn't King it, in regards to our discussion on anti-air in my other thread. I would just suggest putting the stats a little lower than the Aegis cruiser. You could still upgrade it, just make it buildable. Other countries have the "Guided Missile Cruiser" early on in you TCW scenario, this could be the USA's version of it. Just a suggestion.

Okay. Glitch was on my system and its all better now.

Good to hear, Manny.
