First, not all civ have 2 leaders, so get rid opf those ???. Second, you haven't to ask for poeple to answer.
On topic: Germany doesn't nead Hitler as a leader. They have lots of better leaders in their history. And Russia can have someone better than Lenin. And for Egypt, isn't Hatseput a leader? And England has Lizi and Victoriam I think. Anyway, Victoria is way better than Henry.

yeah there just names...the traits are what matters...if the name bugs you...change it

yeah joan of arc is not a good leader. Louis XIV (the sun king) and Napoleon are the two most important people in french history, so why not them?

And in regards to hitler, he is listed by time magazine as the second most important man in history, after Jesus. WHy should he not be germany's leader?

he did do some things worth mentioning as far as leader is concerned(turn germany into world industrial super power) but....i dunno..that whole deal with japan starting the worlds bloodiest conflict thing....hes important to history...but..whew. i dunno about a great leader, he did after all leave his country in ruins.

"great" does not mean "nice", it means "powerful". You cannot doubt the power he commanded.

not even about to argue the power issue..that man knew how to do that...i just question his overall abillity more so then his ethics. I thought everybody knew you couldnt start a land war in asia and expect to win...lol

Yes, he was a bad military commander, but every other aspect of his rule was amazing. Do NOT take that to mean i condone his ethnic cleansing, I do NOT. But the people who condoned his actions, and there were a lot, absolutely lovedhim. He was an unparalled public speaker, and he knew his people well; he got the smartest people in the world to be his advisors. His only mistake was that he didn't listen to them!

oh god yes...the every family with a car dream wasnt an american dream..and he did turn the country around completly..but im afraid he turned it back around by destroying it loses my vote for him as a great leader for the civ series

then again..joseph stalin was the leader in civ1...i guess 20 million dead and millions more in the gulag didnt get to vote on that :)

Honestly I think we need options for great leaders in all respects. I think the developers have started in this direction with a choice of two but I would say we need around 5 per civilization.

i think the option should be open for you to pick traits to and gender repersented by the pic as well...to create the every soo often original civ or really represent the choose leader name (ie..my name will be "stalin"...i choose...millitaristic and.....industrios..) it bugs me when i pick a historical name and have to bring on traits from that ruler or time period of that civ

that may be a little too free. You could end up with seafaring scientific mongols.

Hmm... This thread went from leaderheads to Hitler to Mongols on 50 tile islands....

I have some leader ideas (maybe more than two):

Rome : Julius Caesar, Benito Mussolini (that is if we go from Rome to Italy)
Russia: Peter the Great, Ivan the Terrible, Lenin, Stalin
Arabs: Yassir Arafat
Egypt: King Tut, President Nasser
Spain: Fransisco Franco, Queen Isabella

Just a few for now

In some of those, there is a gap between two civilizations who happen to occupy the same spot. rome--//-->italy,
ancient egypt--//-->modern egypt

I WOULD LOVE HITLER TO BE IN THE GAME!!!! it would be so Kitsch (or verkitschen in german). Hitler was a profound leader, even if his superstitious military mistakes cost him the world. he did turn germany around and is the most famous german leader. he was also the most ambitious and was able to achieve for a time what no one else other than napoleon had dreamed of: control of western europe and most of central as well, with a raging economy. he's no different from napoleon, G. Kahn (and one might say Alexander) in the brevity of his conquest. For good reason he should be in the game, and also the simple amusment of it: imagine! just imagine Pericles or Alexander fighting Hitler! how awesome!! these are some of the great 'what if' questions of history!
some people might not like it so much, but they need to realize that in history some great leaders have been very bad people. i hope that the demographic the new game is going for would be comprised of mature enough individuals to handle that. anyway they'd get used to it pretty quick.
Think of the funny things the game would say: "Hitler wants you to convert to Buddism" and such. the hilarity
I'm no fan of Hitler, but i would be very disappointed if he were not one of the german leaders. it would be a cop-out.

i'm also really psyched about playing Greece with Pericles. he's my favorite. I hope they have him with a long back of the head like he was always made fun of to have. that would be so great.

Actually (and I may start an argument with this one) I like Hitler more than I like Lincoln but that may be a result of Lincoln's more direct effects on me and the fact that Hitler at least had the excuse of being slightly crazy. I too feel Hitler should be included if only for the added fun of kicking his panzer loving tail.
