I've played around with it for a while, and I am certain that it is doable. Now all I need is a few copilots to help prepare for launch. I'd like veteran RaR players, as I am a complete noob with the mod.

RaR 1.04b
Monarch/Emperor
Scientific civ
Second trait and all other settings up for discussion.

Roster:
Mathias
Methos
Beorn-eL-Feared
DaveShack
Disenfrancised

That was quick. I guess I won't be sending you a PM.

This may end up being easier than Epic OCC Space. In the Monarch game I started this week, I reached the Industrial Ages in 400 AD with 32 monopoly techs. Building the SS in a single city may seem like a daunting task, but I expect to be able to rush at least the two largest parts. The difficulty may be in acquiring the necessary resources.

Some settings:
Monarch, standard continents map, no barbarians.

We just need to choose our civ before we can get started.

Unless we have a food bonus nearby we might want to pick an Agricultural civ. The extra food would be helpful.

I also like Industrious for the extra shield though that won’t come into effect for a long time.

Religious is nice as we won’t experience any anarchy between governments. In RaR we’ll revolt several times.

My suggestions would be Babylon (Sci/Ag) or Tibet (Sci/Rel). I’d prefer Babylon over the two due to the Agricultural trait.

hey I quite like to play this one.

Religious is less important as our likely gov moves will be Chieften>Monarchy>Democracy. With a OCC there is no reason to change out of Democracy (unless we go to war and maybe could change to absolute monarch).

Sci is very good, seafaring is also useful (gone extra gpt with all the Ra multiplers). And great UU for cheap defense make greece a strong choice...

Figured I’d roll a few starts.

Size: Standard
Landmass: Continents 70%
Normal, Temperate, 4 billion
No Barbs
Random Opponents

Babs first.

This one I’m not too sure about. It has great potential shield wise (38 spt) if we settle on the starting location. Only thing is it’s not on the coast. We could move south one but than we’re not on the river. At least we start off with a luxury resource. One south would give us more shields too.

I tried rolling a few more Babylonian starts but came up with squat.

Here's the 4000 BC save if you prefer to look at it.

Now let’s try with the Tibet.

:aargh: Rolled about 20 starts or so and didn’t come up with anything even close to what we would want for an OCC. About the best I had was 26 shields max.

I’ll try again later maybe.

I'll sign-up since this is OCC and it takes no time :mischief:

I've got OCSC Monarch and 4CSC Emperor (island-stranded on a pangea) wins in RaR 1.04, hope it qualifies.

This Babs start looks pretty darn good to me. Settling 1S will remove the fresh water bonus, retain 6 bonus commerce tiles (+woods 7) but we do gain shields. Major ports are not that hard to build and it gives us access to goodies like IP and colossus.

Long story short, I concur with settling 1S.

Own said:
1 south has fresh water, the lake.
:nono: in RaR both lakes and coasts show up as 2-0-2 in despotism, since lakes are 3-0-2 base. We just can't know until we reach Monarchy.

save

Here's the start.
