Since I so much wanted the special Pre-Order-Edition I wrote an E-Mail to take2 asking them if there will be a european special edition as well.

I asked him if I could announce their answer here in the forum and they didn't object so here's what they wrote back (took them only one day! :goodjob: )

Hi Oliver

As you know we have many Civilization fans all over the world and we do our best to make sure we can fulfil their expectations with regard to Civilization products.

As different countries have different tastes and preferences it determines what products are available at any given time.

The 'special edition' pack contains lots of bonus material that you are obviously aware of and we are currently investigating the possibility of producing a gift pack later in the year for European fans though this is yet to be confirmed officially

All updates on this will be posted on the 2kgames web sites

Many thanks for your enquiry

Regards

Ben

Sounds good to me! :D Ok, a lot of PR as well, but there's definitely hope for the "Old Europe" (<- I take pride in that since Rumsfeld named us so! :D )

What do you think?

Although this might mean that I will have to buy the "regular" version first, sell it again and then buy the special edition...

P.S.: He even cc't the German Product Manager! That's what I call customer relationship management! :)

Can I call you now Oliver, Stilgar ? ;)

Oh, ****! , my cover!!! ;)

I'm thrilled as well! Let's see if they really will make it! I'm very hopeful! :)

Later in the year...

I'm gonna try and get a friend to order me the boxset available now. But if they do release a European version, I'll be getting it.

Just two or three versions :D :

1. The 1st on the day of the release in Germany (I like to play the German version although I'm capable of playing the english version, too)

2. The European (In my case German) special edition (if it ever comes out)

3. The American- Collectors Edition after a long pause on E-Bay or somewhere for a LOW price (if the bonus-stuff in the European version isn't fulfilling my wishes or if the Europe-version doesn't come out at all)

Moderator Action: Chose, what you just did was totally uncalled for. Not only did you use the mod tags (which is an automatic ban), but you also made it seem as if another moderator (me) was doing it. This will not be tolerated here at all, and frankly, posters like you do not deserve to be given the privilege to keep on posting after so many other warnings under your name. You already have had enough warnings and other bans, so this ban for you will be one month.

I heard some sites ship internationally.

But do any of those accept Switch/Maestro?

Yeah, my debit card, I don't have a credit card. :(

This is great news, though this provides me with another dilemma: wait for special edition -or- buy regular version on release :(

I went to ebgames.com and it seems they do ship to Europe. It costs 30 euros extra in shipping costs though, which I find too much.

I have compiled a list of sites with pre-order around the world and Yahoo (Take2 Store) and GameStop also ship internationally at reasonable prices (depending on your specific country).

A question I still haven't seen answered, though, is what the difference will be between the regular US release and the regular International release. I assume the US doesn't want to wait for translations. But does international get the same 250 page booklet or do we have to make do with a simple 20 page multi-language instruction on how to install the game? The Pre-order description says you get it with a ring rather than regular binding, which suggest regular release still gets a 250 page booklet (in US?).
