Hello Fanatikos and welcome to the Presidential Office Suite. This will be the place ask any question, talk about where our nation is going, or simply stop by for links and info. As President, I have the important duty of leading our nation to victory and I hope to get close (or win) by the end of this term. If we all work together (and post) we can do amazing things. :)

Budget After Money Spent

National Goals
-Enter the Industrial Age and reach (at the minimum) the technology Replaceable Parts Accomplished Partly
-War with Rome and capture 1 Roman city to add to our nation Accomplished
-Raze, pillage, and burn Rome until, they are for all intents and purposes, our vassels Accomplished
-Create production powerhouses with our 5 jewels by building hospitals to bring their populations past size 12 Not Accomplished
-Overtake 2nd Place and hopefully 1st place on the Scoreboard Not Accomplished
 
I would like to make my first official announcement now. It is with great honor that I appoint TimBentley to the office of Expatriate Governor. He has already PMed me asking for the office, and i will glady oblige. I am confident he will do an excellent job this term!
 
All budget requests for this term should be made in this thread. If you want money for something, please post in this thread. Thank You. Budget Info and Presidential Goals for the Term will be in the 2nd post of this thread.

Congratulations TimBently, I was going to suggest you for the job as you were not around to accept your nomination.

Mr President, on the Budget requests, Basancon is in real need for culture so I urge you to put TimBently's request at the top of the priority list. It may well then be worth holding back sufficient gold for Knight upgrades is we manage to get any Saltpetre. As our Hoplites are the equivalent of Spearmen, Hoplites to Muskets will be very expensive.
 
Alright, I will put Governor TimBentley's request as a high priority, as it is the only budget request made so far!

I also would like to say that I have received an application for FA Minister, but I am still accepting applications for FA Minister and Governor of Priapos until Sunday at 12 PM (my time). If you want either of these positions (even if you are already governor, you can hold multiple offices, remember) please don't hesitate to PM me.
 
Mr. President,

If I might make a small suggestion, the people seem to need guidance on our short term and longer term goals, perhaps in the form of discussions to help us find our way. We could also use a refresher on policies decided during previous administrations which carry forward into this term. :)
 
Mr. President,

I would like to make a small but important budget request. Our army must advance if we hope to survive any war. We still have a single swordman left instead of only Medieval infantry. A swordman doesn't have an incredibly high chance in defeating a pikeman yet an MDI has a much better chance. I request upgrading this last swordsman to the rank of Medieval infantry.

Having a powerful standing military at all times is something I would like to have this term, and swordsman are obsolete at this point in the game. Thus, I will make the upgrade of our last Swordsman to a MDI a priority for the next TC. If someone could tell me how much cash this would cost, I can get the specifics into the budget.

Thanks, your post has lit up a lightbulb in my brain. I'll post a thread on an important decision we will soon have to make momentarily.

The remaining swordsman is elite, and would have a chance of creating a leader. The cost to upgrade it to a MDI is 30g.

oh, i didn't realize that our last sword was elite. in that case i don't think an upgrade would be a good idea. thanks for the info.

Attention Fanatiks! After all the applicants have sent in applications (2 people) I have now made my decisions for government appointments.

I officially appoint DaveShack Minister of Foreign Affairs.

I officially appoint admiral-bell Governor of Priapos.

I wish both officers best wishes and good luck in this term. May they bring glory and prosperity to Fanatikos!

well, i don't have the save up right now, but since we will be going to war with Rome sooner rather than later, go with knights.
 
Mr President.

I intend to build a Courthouse followed by a Bank in the Augean Stables before turning the production over to Military for the upcoming Roman War. I am putting these builds in now to maximise the use of our Golden Age and set us up for reduced corruption and greater gold income for our future war. I therefore have the following request to achieve this as quickly as possible during our Golden Age:

I wish to request one NATIVE Worker that has just finished on the mountain by the Augean Stables to join the city on turn 0 of the next session. This will take the city to size 12 to maximise the potential of our Golden Age. Without this additional citizen it will take a long time for the city to grow and there is very little for our Workers to do at the moment, particularly with the recent influx of migrant French Workers. The additional citizen will allow the Courthouse to be completed one turn earlier (3 turns instead of 4).

I also request one Native Worker (or the equivalent in French migrants) to remain with the city to chop the last remaining Forest within the city limits. This will again allow 1 turn to removed from the build time of the Bank (6 turns instead of 7).

The joining of the Worker and chopping of the forest will reduce the build time from 11 to 9 turns. If a Bank is built before the courthouse, the Worker is not joined and the forest is not chopped it would take 8 turns just to build the Bank!

The remaining Workers can be released to the national pool, or if there is nothing for them to do they could mine the unirrigated plains around the city.

I hope that you will grant my request as I believe that this is in the best interest of Fanatikos
