Update v1.52 Won't let me play online

Hi there,

I really need help figuring this out. I went to play Civ4 online today and I got a message that I should update the game to play. So I updated it like it said and the game installed the new update.

I then opened the game and whenever I choose to play online, the game freezes and I cannot even get to windows. I need to shut the pc down manually... I could go online just fine, just since htis patch I cannot log in...

Please help me out!

Did you make sure to allow Civ4 again in your firewall? Most firewalls ask again if the program's changed.

I tried disabling my firewall altogether and I still couldn't play an online game. Have they somehow changed it to Xfire being required to play online now?
