Well if fighters and capital ships were on the same scale, then you wouldn't be able to see it!

It is nicely done, but you should consider resizing it. It is much too large.
Scale in CIV is not exact, but it should be relative. There are quite a few other CIV Starwars fighters. Did you try to scale it off those? I have scaled mine off the firaxis jet fighter and each other.
I think the color is ok. I think it is dark, but 'ok'. The civ color on the wings is well.
For future consideration only, I recall that the wings and the center rotated independent of each other. I don't know if your model allows for that.
The only thing I think needs fixing is the size. I made this same mistake on my first version of the Hummer Avenger, and remade it to fix it.

Ion cannons and missiles are exceedingly hard to animate in OpenFX. I'm more ticked off at the size,

Okay, it's probably about time I responded to all of these stabs at my heart.
I think it's fair to say that this isn't my best, so I'll probably redo it at a later date, taking all of your suggestions into account.

Yeah. If you still have the original cells of the storyboards, you can easily make it smaller with SBB.

I know most don't find it funny... But I do... 
You won't get any complaints from me, but... this thread is 2 years old, and some people dislike it when such old threads are "necromanced".
