Dual
Gun Mage
UPDATED (4/19/06):
Added team colors to the unit by adding a FX.nif file.
UPDATED (4/06/06):
I added improved ion engines on the back of the model, with new textures to go with them. Polygon count is a little higher, at 1712.
Also added all of the animations from the origional Jet Fighter unit, so point to that animation when adding the unit to the XML.
OLD POST: Here's the latest in the TIE variations I'm working on: the TIE Defender. One of the more unique looking TIE fighters.
The TIE Defender is possibly the fastest and most powerful of the TIEs developed by the Empire. Unlike most TIEs, the Defender has a shield generator and hyperdrive. It is armed with laser cannons, ion cannons, and missiles (and sometimes a small tractor beam). But because of it's high cost, and a large rear blind spot, it was never produced in large numbers.
Like the other TIEs I made, it's meant to be used as an aircraft. And you can use the vanilla units' animations with it (like the Fighter Jet's kfm file). The polygon count on this one is 1560.
