My request list for 4.0

Hi everyone!

I have a big interest for this mod , and with this interest, there is also requests Here is a big list of things that I wish to see in future update and I would like to have your thoughts on each of those subjects.

First of all, my biggest wish is to have to merge this mod with Varietas Delectat. First, we could only use the vanilla civs set and tag the new civ to actual set (example, Mexico to Aztec). Some of the civs planned for 4.0 (like Cuba) are already made for this mod. After, we may ask avain if he want to create new styles for new civilizations. I know that there is already some units made that would work for new civ style. If he’s too busy to dig the forum to create new art style for new civ, maybe someone else can take care of it.

It was my biggest wish, but not the only one. Here are some Leaders that I would like to get included. Sometimes, I put some quotes of the leaders to help to make the diplo dialogue if he finally got included.

For those two, my plan would be to split Macedonia and Greece into two civ with Pericles, George I and Leonidas leading Greece and Alexander and Philippe leading Macedonia. We can even cut the Greece in two faction (like the city states division during Peloponnesian war, but this cut is maybe to much ? what do you think ?) I really think Greece and Macedonia should be two different civ (and the Macedonia UU is already present in the lost unit of vanilla, or Warlords scenario)

We may also use Sid Meier LH (Like they did in Road to War) for a modern leader. It’s a model that we don’t use in the mod.

Fierabras and I talked about this. Right now we've merged EDU and some other unit sets. His concern was the specificity of the VD unit sets, and how it would all work together.

I like the idea but because he is the one with the job of merging the code, I'll leave it to him to comment.

King, Trudeau, Cardenas, Hidalgo, d'Medici and Charles V will all be in 4.0.

Michael Collins - will add as 2nd Irish leader
Tamerlain - awesome LH! Either add to Mongols, or maybe new Timurid Empire that might be in development
Amanishabheto - was going to add sooner
Hector - included as part of Amra's Troy, I think
Uther - I can do this, if the community wants it
Calgalus - I like the concept but someone better than me will have to fix the head
Massinisa - we probably won't have a Numidia, but maybe add to Carthage

Arpad - planned for addition
Joan of Arc - can add this (kinda shiny right now, though)
Ivan the Terrible - can add this
Franco - can add this

BTW - any BtS or Warlords models would be good. Gold is currently heavy on Vanilla LH re-do's and re-skins. (Boudica would be nice to see somewhere)

Josip Broz Tito , Yugoslavia - Been meaning to do a Yugoslav civ. Let me think about how to do this

I don't mind splitting Greece and Macedonia. My only concern is that, despite all the arguments on heritage, Alexander the Great *is* associated with Greece...hmmm...let me think on that a bit

Harald can be a 3rd Viking leader or a new leader for Norway - thinking on this now

Robert the Bruce - a but better than ours, not completely sold on it.

Richelieu - may be suitable for the pack mentioned above

The BTS version of CIV Gold has a setup which makes it possible to replace EDU with any other UnitArtStyle mod with only a couple of changes. The idea of temporarily using the vanilla civs set for the new civs is a good one. We could make a VD addon for CIV Gold this way.

Making a total VD for all the new civs is a lot of work. CIV Gold will bring the total amount of civs to around 120 (32 + 36 + 52). Anyone who wants to make this, is more than welcome.

Anyhow, VD won't be included in the main CIV Gold download, but maybe in the future there will be a VD Civ Gold expansion.

(Edit: to avoid any confusion, where I said "vanilla", I meant "Firaxis" civs: Vanilla, Warlords and BTS civs)

I think this is the best solution. Release Gold 4.0 first, and than after an add-on with VD. If we merge the two, the file would be to heavy, so like this, you don't have to download VD if you don't want it.

For all the custom civ, we should let the UnitArtStyle mod that you are curruntly using, and VD will only affect the vanilla, warlords and BtS civs and the custom civ that already have a VD art style (Poland, Hungary, Cuba already have one, maybe there is also other civs). After this, we can try to convince someone else to create new VD art style for some of the custom civ

It's only to rescale propotionaly the mesh with the rotation matrix (see rabbit white tut). If you aren't confortable with this, you only have to ask someone who have experience with nifskope and it's a 5 minutes job.

I've alose forgot to point this LH : Argantonia of Tartessia (that also need to be rescale) http://forums.civfanatics.com/downlo...o=file&id=2820 that can surely find a place somewhere (not necersely as Argantonia, it can fit other leaders as well).

Ivan the Terrible - I suggest it because the LH art is cool (well, the leader himsel is cool too) If you don't want to add him as an other Russian leader, maybe it can find a place elsewhere. Maybe it can replace an existing LH that look to much like his base model. Horewer, if you have the time, it would be nice to have Ivan the Terrible.

Franco - Spain is really lacking of Leader, so I think this one is good.

Lenin - Well, with the heavy number of suggestions, I think this one is one of the lessimportant (well, for me). Russia have already four leader and I prefer Ivan the terribe to him.

Wilhelmina of Netherlands - Suggested because there is only one dutch leader, but this one look much like Elizabeth, so maybe if you are lacking of time you may wait that there is a new leader that is more unique to come up.

Theodra - So it shouldn't be too difficult ? Accepted ?

Vlad III Drakula for Romania - I can do the crown job

Selim - Not necerssely high on my list, I don't know on yours ? (because I feel a bit guilty to give you so much work I'm trying to cut )

Yes for Collins. I think cyberxkhan is doing a Timurid civ. Let me double-check. Otherwise, it's easy to add him to the Mongols.

Just because he isn't historical. But he wouldn't be the only one, as Gesser will be the leader of the Buryat. I don't have a problem including Uther.

Maybe I'll try a little poll to see what people think. The alternative is to create Macedonia with Phillip II, and keep Alexander with Greece OR make Alexander available to both!

And it's a really good model! We should see how the count stacks up so that no one civ has too many leaders.

Currently I have cyberxkhan's model in the Vietnam civ, but he's not entirely happy with it and I agree. So far, I don't have Boudica for anyone.

Yeah, in my mind, yours look more Haida than Saruman and even if both are based on Tokugawa, I must admit that Saruman (with his big beard) look less like him, so I would prefer to have him as neighbourd(I really don't know how to spell that work and I'm lazy to check ) of Japan.

Calgalus and Argantonia of Tartessia - I have nifskope too. What we need, is NifViewer. Like a said, it's a five minutes job for someone who know what he's doing.

Joan of Arc - Here is the two version of her. I wanted you to use the first one, the one made by Iloveplayciv.

Richelieu - With Joan of Arc, France will have to many leaders, I agree. If we want to add him, we would have to find Joan of Arc an other place somewhere. Do you have an idea of a medieval female leader ? I mentionned Sigrid the Haugthy, but i'm not relly convince about it. If we have to choose between Richelieu and Joan, I prefer Joan because France don't have any medieval leader.

Trung - You really seem to like Boudica model I must admit that after all my recycle, I'll only do leaderheads from scratch, so we won't have this annoying problem that this leader look to much like this one. But it could be a nice suggestion to make to dutchking if he have some free time.

As for Joan of Arc - well, it'd be nice to have her in order to recreate all past Civ leaders.

Alternately, Caterina Sforza may be a possibility.

What we need, is NifViewer. Like a said, it's a five minutes job for someone who know what he's doing.

It's me agin with anoying requests

No leaders this time, it's more about UU.

Most of the UU are reskin only (mainly because a lot of civ have been made before the release of the tools that enable model modification), so with 4.0, it would be nice to replace some older UU graphic with better ones. I havn't look trought all the forum and DB, but those threads may helps you if you want to update your UU graphic :
