Its time for the first Fall from Heaven: Shadow sucession game. :D

So far 3 others have indicated some interest, so we're looking for a further 2 to make it happen. Happy to take those who have never played the game as well.

As for the game, looking at these settings,

Game: Fall from Heaven version 0.30g (if a new patch is out before we start we'll use that)
Difficulty: Monarch
Map: Inland Sea
Speed: Epic
Settings: Aggressive AI

As for the leader, well I thought I'd throw out three suggestions and see what everyone wanted to do. One of the things I really like about FfH is the concept of alignment, you can (if you want) roleplay your game based on your alignment and the alignemtn of the AI. So the ideas are based on the three alignments and are open to change/discussion.

Good: Einion Logos of the Elohim, must win by Altar of Luonnatar and Armageddon Counter must be less than 20.
Neutral: Hannah the Irin of the Lanum, must win by Domination controlling all of the inland sea.
Evil: Tebryn Abandi of the Sheaim, can win by any condition but the Armageddon Counter must 100 and must found Ashen Veil religion

Here are some handy links for FFH.

Just so you know, I'm pretty sure the AC stops at 100. Been a little while since I tried to bump it up. Either way, you should probably just say it has to be at least 100.

I wouldn't mind playing, Oz. I've played the Ago of Ice scenario that came with BTS; but other than that, I've no FFH experience. So you all might have to put up with a few dumb questions. ;)

wow ~ i sure wish i had time.

i also am wary of mods since after the last one i tried, it fried my .dll and i had to reinstall ~

will *probably* have to lurk this one

FFH is a true mod, ie it doesn't modify your standard Civ IV assets. It is the most downloaded file from this site and I've yet to hear anyone having any issues with Civ from using it.

**wavering**

edit: no, i really shouldn't ~ i just *don't* have the time right now w/RL stuff ~

Never played FFH (or even looked at it) but I'll volunteer to pinch the last spot (unless Pholkhero stops wavering and commits himself first).

Oh damn, too late. Is there a reservist spot?

Excellent pigswill.

Just need for Jono, darrell and uberfish to check in and for everyone to decide which of good/neutral/evil we want to be. I think the good and neutral variants are slightly easier and similar to traditional Civ (if that makes sense) and the evil variant will be most different.

If more people are interested we can of course set up more than one game.

I'm interested if another game develops.

Checking in...you might want to bump me towards the bottom of the roster since I've never played FFH before :). I'd like to be evil  from what I have read so far.

It took me a bit to find the download link to this mod. I finally found it, though, in the bug reporting thread. :crazyeye: It redirects to a website called GameFlood, which seems to have some problems. Is there somewhere on CFC (or another site) that contains this mod instead of GameFlood? I'm leery of installing their "download manager" ...

I also found the "f" patch, also in the bug reporting thread :crazyeye: but it says that the "g" patch is unreleased. Is that possibly a typo or is there somewhere else that I need to go to get the "g" patch?

and for everyone to decide which of good/neutral/evil we want to be. I think the good and neutral variants are slightly easier and similar to traditional Civ (if that makes sense) and the evil variant will be most different.
I think I should abstain for the time being. I have no clue what the options entail. :) What is the Armageddon Counter, anyway? And is the Altar of Luonnatar something like a spaceship victory?

Unfortunately Gameflood is the only download for the mod (I assume it is too big for CFC). I used their download manager and then uninstalled it once the download was done with no problems. Download from here.

There used to be a wiki page for FFH which has died but I just found a site that has the civilopedia for FFH online.

Armageddon Counter is a counter for all "evil" things. It goes up as barbarian cities form, evil religion (Ashen Veil) is founded and spreads and as cities are razed, among others. As it increases various effects are enforced (40 - most tile improvemtns removed, 90 - Most units will turn barbarian). You can also lower the AC by negating the things that raise it (the wiki had a really good listing for this).

Altar of Luonnatar victory is where you use a series of Great Prophets to build a series of altars (I think you need 7)

If there is still an extra spot or another game going on, I would like to join. It would be my first SG but I've lurked for a long time and play emporer in FFH.
