Unofficial Patches (Solver and Bhruic)

BUG and BAT are fully compatible with both unofficial patches from Bhruic and Solver. However, you should not use the Python files supplied with their patches. BUG includes all of the Python changes that their patches include plus more, obviously.

Therefore, use the DLL from either patch if you like: Bhruic's for 3.13 and Solver's for 3.17. If you've already installed the Python from an unofficial patch, you can simply install BUG right on top of them with no trouble.

I'm terribly sorry, I'm new here and not computer-savvy. I have been reading this forum for the past two days trying to decide what to do. I currently play 3.13 Bhuric with no additonal modding.
I have held off installing 3.17 for other reasons (didnt like the WW reduction), but now that I know how to use 3.17 and revert the WW changes, I wanted to install it, together with Solver's version. I figured this would be a good time to install BUG and BAT.

However, I did not understand your post, EmperorFool. I do not understand what it is exactly I have to install when. And I am unsure if I can still change the war weariness back to its 3.13 state when I have BUG and BAT installed. I know I am a coward, but it comes from ignorance, and if anyone can give me specific idiot-proof instructions on how to go from 3.13 Bhuric to --> 3.17 Solver + BAT + BUG + GlobalDefinitions.xml change, I would be grateful and give virtual knee-bending.

As long as you're only installing the DLL from one of the unofficial patches, the order of installation doesn't matter because the DLL goes in C:\...Firaxis\Civ4\Beyond the Sword\Assets" while BUG and BAT both go into the "MyGames\BtS\..." folder.

umm, what if I just exracted the unofficial files over the official files?

Just wondering as I seem to be missing various icons (culture, money etc.) from city screen at least (building show just +2, plus 2 what?).

Also I can't continue old save of road to war (pacific) as it crashes when I try bombarding with frigatte.

Restarted playing after a year now that I found BtS from bargain bin. This is my first try at custom came. Been playing scenarios.

Edit: Oh and I'm running 3.17 manual install (autoupdater did not work for some reason and had to forcibly shut it down as it wasn't downloading anything for two hours I left it on.)

Edit2: And I used the installer for BAT 1.0 if that makes difference.

Someone else had a problem with missing symbols just like you did, but I think they ended up reinstalling and it was okay. Here's what I'd do in your case.

1. Please ZIP and post the file "Assets\Res\Fonts\GameFont_75.tga" that's located in your main Beyond the Sword install folder. This will help me track the problem down for others.
2. Uninstall BAT.
3. Uninstall Civ4 and all expansions completely.
4. Install Civ4 and expansions.
5. Apply BtS 3.17 patch.
6. Backup BtS DLL (e.g. rename the DLL by adding ".original")
7. Install just the DLL from Solver's patch. This goes into the Assets folder in the main install directory where you just renamed the original.
8. Install BAT 1.0 using the EXE as a mod as you did before.

Sorry to have you go through all this again, but while BUG and BAT include a custom font, it's nothing that should result in the original font symbols disappearing. My guess is that the partial patch process caused the problem. That's why I'd like you to post/PM me the original font file from your install.
