Screensot thread.
doing warm wet and 4 billion and many rolls ;) before i got ag ood one.
civ1.jpg

starting position, the barbs ddint give anything.

civ2.jpg

got 2 luxuries, but 2 and 1 settler is not good, but fixed with the bar and extra worker. Also plans for expansion :p

civ3.jpg

Our first deal

we meet aztecs they have nothing important to trade

our empire right now, and plans as you see the silks are roman now. Also i got a higher density plan for south (gems + shore), and hope to grab 2 cities to the west. Also started working on barracks to make spearmans.

so far
civ4.jpg

aztecs persians met
persians seem stronger(from report+ trades)
barbs gave 25 gold(4 popped). I guess i didnt get any warriors but 3 empty barbs is annoying.

You got a very good start there. Three cows and right on a river. It should be good for pumping out tons of settlers early on. Although the Persians are a bit too close.

civ5.jpg

We find a persian unprotected settler. I am pissed he is goin this way into my backdoor, but obviosly i can beat him to the gems. I popped a hut for 3 barbs (somehow survived them even though they were on hills+ mountains) and found 2 more wheat with river access, and tundra to the south. Next settler i am sending to secure the gems.

civ6.jpg

Persian settler blocked, next turn he turns back, i decide to follow him to see if he is going back completely, and he doesnt, immediately after i turned back he started chasing my settler, but he turns back yet another time. Instead of risking the gems, I decide to find a town there

civ7.jpg

Persian settler pair(now) is still a threat. Horses are way way far(unless fogged). Hopefully iron is a different story

civ8.jpg

Anyway here is the dotamap for iron(no iron in sight, but the way i plan on controlling the mountains).
civ9.jpg

Persian have writing now. I trade with chinese to get their contacts, and egyptians give me iron working. Here is the new map(4 irons, in contested area with aztecs).

civ10.jpg

I did some more trading, and was able to get 100/300 gold back from persians.

civ11.jpg

Here is the tech tree 1750bc. I thought emperor would be better(I control all known tech's from 12 civ's I met).
Screenshots will be uploaded soon.

images are in now(except for one). The land looks very good to the east, will be included in next update. Also I am thinking about whether I want a despotism war or a republic war(got philosphy, min res on code of laws atm).

I'm surprised that the Persians sent out a settler without an escort. That's rare.

But I've never seen so many irons so close together.

so is it better to go for republic and put the ga to use? also there is a moderate chance of ai getting mathematics by the time i get republic. Should i min research or full out rush for it? These questions will be solved in the next update.

civ12.jpg

As hinted earlier, we have gotten the philopshy. Eventually xerxes demanded terriotry map and 4 gold, we caved in to the demands. After that we bought map making, math and 3 contacts from him.
civ13.jpg

Also tho brooding setller finally setled on the spices way the hell away from persian lands.
civ14.jpg

Iron getting connected.

civ15.jpg

civ17b.jpg

And we mass switched to producing catapults from workers(got 17!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) One warrior returned home, one still exploring. We are going to have 7 spearman and one warrior stationed for hapiness in our cities. Rest will be legion's and cats to destroy the vile aztecs.

civ16.jpg

The impossible task is done, iron is connected through a mountain range(also southern core is finished with founding of virconium).
civ18.jpg

sold the world map to aztecs for their terriotry map and gold. As you can see, we are on a corner, and persians are on a 10 tile wide isthmus.

So right now we are 40 turns away from republic(40 legionaries and 40 cats to be made for aztecs).
We are also down polytheism, impossible to buy without paying gpt(useless tech, not worth it imo)

edit: i hate imageshack. Ill rehost when i feel like this, I dont think the 1 messed up screen and 1 misisng one take too much away from the story ;)

To warn you, this update is not going to be pretty.
civ20.jpg

First of we flipped antium(as we find out later it was right next to persian capital).

civ23.jpg

civ24.jpg

Finally the AI turned their tech pace to rocket speed, and got all the techs necessary for medieval ages except for code of laws(which I traded skillfully to semi bankrupt the leaders -persia, england(lower techs bought from others, those trades to break england and persia).).
civ21.jpg

Our scout is passing persians, and raping their road as revenge for Antium.

Also we can't go full speed ahead for republic :(. Antium flip helped alot for this. So min research, and hopefully get it before AI.

Doing ok on making troops, 4 cats 4 legs 950 BC.

Soon I get a stack of 8 legionaries in pompeii, and the same stack in Virconium + cats. 3 settlers are made
War plan vs aztecs
black is stack. It epicly destroys the first city, one force goes after horses, another makes a loop at razing aztecian mainlands. 5 settlers immediately settle the border/block persians(400-300bc). Second wave of 6-10 settlers settle the rest of aztec lands(200-100bc).

civ26.jpg

The Ai still hasn't claimed an iron or spices way away

Waiting until republic was a bad idea, too much sitting, but right now my troops are about to kick some ass.
civ27.jpg

The unmatched roman army, powered by 17 workers.

civ28.jpg

The republic

civ29.jpg

We win a lilttle cash>despotism.

civ30.jpg

Stack #1

civ31.jpg

Stack #2(there is more protecting the low lands to it)
civ32.jpg

Stack #3(aka the fail stack, it got kicked out by persians.)

civ33.jpg

The persians rape us for rop, we are gonna rape them with rop after the war is over :).

civ34.jpg

Palace view

civ35.jpg

Aztec city rioting, our legion stack is too strong(15-4 atm, some lucky jaguars landed kills on run away legionaries, but the real attacks(swords) failed).

civ36.jpg

The grid for new cities.

Next update is going to come all at once(no writing without screenshots). It will last from 60bc- 0 Ad or until i get education(if I can make it go faster or get less SS's) and it will mostly consist of aztecian demise obviosly. The score is about 4:1(7 deaths) right now(this is pretty bad, but considering cats only helped me kill like 5 of those troops(lots of legionaries attacking completely healed spearmans), and I had lots of unprotected legionaries after attacks it's somewhat justified.)
civ37.jpg

Germans give us theology, very stupid move on thier part XD
civ38.jpg

Cash in theology
civ39.jpg

x2
civ40.jpg

Great library useless before engineering? (made faster with the luxes, by 2 turns)
civ41.jpg

more to the same story
civ42.jpg

Aztec front, leader spawned
civ43.jpg

Aztec gridded, green is FP to be rushed.

Current goals.
rush FP
use 17 workers to construct the second core.
Finish aztecs.
Mass horsemans to upgrade into knights.
Slow down research with education.
Take persian cities inside my territory as well as their capital by 300AD(to shutdown research in this game, and let me beat everyone to cavalry).

civ44.jpg

aztecs dont have pikeman, easy game
civ45.jpg

will get hurried in next turn by our leader
civ46.jpg

Aztecs trying to reclaim, territory, but I already got 2 slaves from a jag set pair
civ47.jpg

Drumroll
civ48.jpg

Pathetic peace, look what happened to their capital.
civ49.jpg

congratulations germans, your library has netted you only engineering and chivalry from the techs not required to get to education(I guess republc+monarchy count too)
civ50.jpg

2/3 of the effects from aztec war are felt on the score graph
Rome is still behind aztecs, but in 10 turns that will change.

This is as far as I have played. the turn i sold education to germans.

civ51.jpg

Our solid income

civ52.jpg

Persians are trying to settle another city(for us). For their own good we surround them with knights(that's incomplete, next turn knights were around the pair in all directions.
civ53.jpg

peace with aztecs. we leave them the capital because it has some trees in it, I don't want to clear those since slaves work slower than normal workers(talking about 4 workers aztecs have). On unrelated note, aztecs had a greek worker we captured(AI buying workers???!!!) Greek's are standard color, So i dont think they were captured(pretty far, but considering aztecs got GLH, it could be possible).
civ54.jpg

more evidence for GLH
civ55.jpg

Persians are willing to give a tech for that town(Tamuin). Later I trade it for printing press from americans, since I will use Persian city razing to research invention.

15 pictures incoming
civ56.jpg

We finally sell Tamuin
civ57.jpg

Our empire actually looks nice now
civ58.jpg

The persian empire waste of space
civ59.jpg

the knights do their job on the first turn, destroying any possible persian incursion in the backdoor, with a perfect record
civ60.jpg

Our troops are ready to attack next turn
civ61.jpg

And we still raze it
civ62.jpg

Persians are fools!
civ63.jpg

The biggest persian push(about 8 units). I am surprised they don't have any knights but possess pikeman.
civ64.jpg

Antium is 100% persian. Caeser is upset, and orders our troops to leave the city. In 2 turns persians retook it, and our troops razed it, only to rebuild it on the same turn.
civ65.jpg

We offer fair terms for peace, they don't accept.
civ66.jpg

our palace improves again.
civ67.jpg

Destroying the persian capital.
civ68.jpg

the leader
civ69.jpg

We destroyed it to only have it rebuilt the next turn. Anyway it was destroyed again (no ss). The peace with persians wasn't very good either, we ended up paying 725 cash for a monopoly tech and a well-known tech. The legionary research didn't perform as well as expected. On the bright side we can do 4-turn gunpowder now(after paying epic gpt to possess all the possible luxes to turn ent slider from 30%->0%). -151 gpt. unfortunately we lost 5 legionaries in this war(killed about 40 persian units).

Anyway guys, I would like some feedback, do you think I would be able to beat diety on archipelago(supposedly easier). Also what civ should I use for it.

I have played a couple more turns... and it was some of the worst stuff hapenning to me all game.(non-war related).
Short update, normal number of SS
civ70.jpg

Our 4-turn gunpowder research
civ71.jpg

Hurrying library to protect the flips
civ72.jpg

civ75.jpg

this picture says it all.
civ76.jpg

went from 5-3 on chemistry, meaning 4 turn research again
civ77.jpg

stack destroying the aztecs
civ78.jpg

Bye bye Aztecs.

Nice going, nothing really to say except keep conquering.

It seems your font is a little odd though, did you cahnge the font in game?

lurker's comment: I thought that is the normal font. I have it too. Great game too. A bit hard to destroypersia with those salpeters (s?) in their territory.

I thought it would be agood idea to get another update in.
Not much has changed but the second war with persia is over(1 hp muskteers were able to bring my legionary force down to 40(from high of 52))
civ79.jpg

the original grid (not followed)
civ81.jpg

the big problem for war, our spices
civ82.jpg

problem solved, persians declare on us
civ83.jpg

4-turn set up to destroy 2 cities
civ84.jpg

and we still raze it
civ85.jpg

crap
civ86.jpg

I have to give the tech away for banking, going to need it after the mt research to recover my reserves
civ87.jpg

results of the second war, war weariness forces us to peace
civ88.jpg

alexander gives us music theory, no need to give him a tech
civ89.jpg

We rus Js Bach's for mass hapiness with a leader.
Obviously the war will be redeclared next turn(or after units heal-up depending on how much more I want to delay the game tomorrow).
I think I will try deity next game.

I think i got through like 9 turns in this update. Too much stuff to do each turn. maybe i should auto the workers??(I got a better idea atm, sell the slaves to zulu/babylon so they can start choppin their large jungle)

civ90.jpg

We get our MT 520 AD(now i realize how slow is it to drag through turns on higher level difficulties without autoin workers)
civ91.jpg

savin it up for mass cav upgrade
civ92.jpg

yea republic doesnt like war
civ93.jpg

first shot of my settler movement
civ94.jpg

we use our cash to buy economics and start makin banks
civ95.jpg

we raze another persian capital
civ96.jpg

pop a leader from it defending the stack(had 4 longbows attack)
civ97.jpg

I decide its pointless to resettle cities now looking at the distance between my outer cities to rome
civ98.jpg

Sneaky
civ99.jpg

What's up zulu?
civ100.jpg

Uh oh, persians got some teeth.
civ101.jpg

first city we keep all game(not counting antium)
civ102.jpg

persians decide to sneak upon our undefended core
civ103.jpg

eh I dont think they stand a chance(2 legionaries 1 knight)
civ104.jpg

catting the city with acess to saltpeter
civ105.jpg

raze it
civ106.jpg

build saltpeter city
And we finally have saltpetere(610 AD, our original goal was 700 for MT but we got really rich)
Anyway 100 screenshots made. Since I got saltpeter, its time for mop up now
Next update will include my works to make this game flow faster as discusses earlier. We are third in rankings I think.

Only 6 screenshots this time. I updated my army

civ107.jpg

we sign peace treaty
civ108.jpg

Our army before being modernized
civ109.jpg

last city that is built (new rome)
civ110.jpg

in the works
civ111.jpg

our cash after modernization
civ112.jpg

the new all powerful modern roman army.
Next update is going to have about 20 turns and less secreenshots(game is getting boring).

Oh Noes! The Mighty Roman Cannon Army is coming!! :run:
Quick! Get to hiding places! :hide:

Great game! Continue on writing! :goodjob:
I'm waiting to see Persia being crushed. Maybe going after Zulu when done with Persia? :hammer:
Watch out for Zulu Impi, though.
:spear:
