Should units that were revealed under Nox Noctis gain a spell that allows them to become invisible again?

Poll coming!

I would prefer a fourth option to vote:
yes, but only for esus state religion.

Yes. From a practical standpoint, if you can hide yourself to begin with due to Nox Noctis and then "reveal" when necessary, why shouldn't you be able to hide again?

I don't experience a need to rehide units that I have revealed. I only reveal units that are going to defend a particular tile, and those units stay on that tile defending it for the rest of the game.

The disadvantage I see for giving units the ability to rehide is that an injured tile defender can be hidden, allowed to heal without risk, and then revealed to resume tile defense. Nox Noctis is already a very powerful defensive tool; opening the door to this exploit seems ill-advised.

If, however, the decision to allow units to rehide were to be made then I would support this:

There are a lot of ways to benefit from CoE without following it as a state religion. If any new abilities are going to be added to CoE I think they should require it as a state religion, to help incentivise its use.

i say unit revealed by revelation should be visible for X turns, after which they become invisible again. This would give the revealer some more tactical advantage, but wouldn't completely demolish the CoE player

And what add an annoying amount of micromanagent for players who want to use those units as "ressource guardians".

Some news:

<@Kael> would they have much need for units that they want to switch back and forth?
<@dot> I agree that in most cases I want the hidden ones hidden and the revealed ones revealed.
<@Snarko> I think it's good that you have to choose between hidden and not hidden. Can't get the best of both worlds.
<@dot> Well, Snarko, aptly put. I rest that case!

i think that reveal should work on invisi units as well as perfect sight. however only on that turn and when that unit is within range respectively. shadows that lose their invisi should be able to trounce back home and re-invisi if revealed outside of borders. cause really the most powerful feature of NN is picking apart attackers at your leisure. should said attackers have a priest that cast reveal that would be a great counter to a great wonder, and everything stays in balance.

Not exactly. At that point there would need to be a CoE priest who could cast a spell that would temporarily render units invisible even in the territory of the owner of Dies Diei, in order for there to be balance.

(Btw, you are also talking about Revelation, not Reveal. Revelation is cast by Empyrean priests to reveal invisible units and remove hidden nationality. Reveal, which is the topic of this poll (despite the OP's unfortunate use of the term "Revelation" in the title), is only available to units belonging to the owner of Nox Noctis and allows units to forego the invisiblility that Nox Noctis grants them.)
