For the Hittites

The Hittites had some elite infantry called "Teheru". They fought the Egyptians in the battle of Kadesh.

Just an FYI, Israel (known as Caanan, before the Hebrews conquered the land) was never occupied by Egypt.

Certainly Israel/Canaan was under Egyptian control during the New Kingdom.

FWIW, my father's got an old Israeli historical Atlas of the Holy Land, which says that the very name "Canaan" probably originally refered to the Egyptian province, and after the Egyptian withdrawal remained as a general geographic term. No idea what kind of evidence there's for this.

Not true, Israel was Egyptian at that time, just look at any historical atlas, and youŽl see it.

Israel was in slavery to Egypt, but Canaan was never under Egyptian rule.

Puglover: Every historical altas I've ever seen (that deals with the period) disagrees with you.

Dont bring dead threads back, and obviously this scenario takes place long before Persia existed.
