I'm trying to do a Huge Sid milk run and I got a Scientific Leader from Philosophy pre 1000 BCE. Colossus, Pyramids, and Oracle are gone, Statue of Zeus I can't build. Rest of the wonders are available currently, although I have not all techs.

I'm wondering what to build with this. Great Library would be nice but I think I can manage trading ok. Hanging Gardens is nice, but Temple of Artemis achieves same happiness and also gains territory (=score). JSBach takes ages to reach, and I should be militaristically able to take it when it is build.

Temple of Artemis and Leonardo's Workshop seem to be the best options, although ToA would cause problems at milk stage as I would have to reorder cities quite a lot due to unwanted border expansions.

ToA will be obsolete with Education, so unwanted border expansions should be no issue, once you are in the milking phase. So, if you want to go for content citizens, Hanging Gardens would be preferable, as it expires with Steam Power.

What about a more militaristic wonder, like Zun Tsu, or Leo's?

I say Temple of Artemis since it gets you more territory faster, and can help you keep captured cities a bit easier. I don't see how you would have a reordering problem, as your cultural borders won't shrink unless you disband a city.

I'm really not that good at milking but I'd say that ToA would be my choice. That early score boost will be nice and less of a deficit in culture to help stop flips is also very welcome. How long do you see yourself avoiding Education? Have you got a UU that you want to maintain build capability?

Leo's is also a very good choice. If I was doing huge Sid I'd take ages to conquer my rivals but it sounds like you may get there more quickly than I would so maybe its value is less in your case.

Good luck with your game either way!

I might go HG for two reasons:

1) Happiness lasts longer - into the industrial age.
2) Happiness effects are for EVERY city, not just the ones on your continent.

I think I'll go with ToA. The plan is to avoid Education and use Great Library slingshot to Steampower. Avoiding Education means that many cities have unwanted border expansions and I have to destroy and rebuild them later, but the early territory gain should help with score. My continent seems huge as my warriors and curraghs have been exploring and not seeing the end of it. At least 4 AIs are on the same archipelago pangaia with me. Domination limit almost 4600 and this map was found after a million iterations with mapfinder. :)
