Just because it would be so much fun. Look, it's not like presidents have ever changed the country that drastically, or even had the ability to, in recent years. Is the average American lifestyle changed THAT much since the Clinton era? Not really. You might call me naive for thinking that, but I don't think she'll be able to do too much harm, certainly it'll be fixable.

Just think about how hilarious it would be to have Sarah Palin as president. The kind of BS she would spew in her speeches. Plus it would utterly destroy any credibility the conservatives have in this country, which can only be a good thing.

So right now I'll be voting her if she runs.

Bush brought global capitalism to it's knees. That's quite enough rapid change for me :p

That won't work. Sarah Palin represents conservatives like Dubya did. Though he hurt the Republican party's image a good bit, the response was to elect Democrats all over the board... And we have seen how that has been going for the last several years. As 2008 also pointed out, many people who would think of voting for a conservative candidate were turned away from McCain because of Palin.

Besides, how will Democrats succeed when they can't use a slogan revolving around "change?"

Masochistic much?

In all seriousness, for all the good Palin could possibly do for the left, the damage that may come through her presidency (whether by the increased risk of war, the lack of any action (if not reversal of progress) on climate change, etc.) is way too risky to even consider supporting her for the lulz.

Oh yea, lack of action is what we need to worry about. Like, on climate change and stuff...

Have you read the news in the past few months?

Afghanistan: continues Bush policy.
Iraq: continues Bush policy.
Patriot Act: continues Bush policy.
Gitmo: continues Bush policy.
Climate Change: continues Bush policy.
Healthcare Reform: fails.

If Obama gets any more stuff done, the republicans are gonna re-elect him.

She couldn't do worse. She looks better. Why not? Seriously, only a democrat could have succeeded so spledidly in escalating the war in Afghanistan, staying the course in Iraq, extending the Patriot Act, "closing" Gitmo by moving it to somewhere else (maybe), telling the Climate Conference to piss-off and increasing spending on nuclear weapons... and win a Peace Prize. The way it is now, republicans get everything they want and the US gets flowers from Europe anyway. Now... What did the democrats get so far... nothing.

Although he does make nice speeches and uses rhetoric well. You guys can be happy you have that! I know you wouldn't want a bumbling mumbling fool like Bush who got everything his party wanted even when he didn't have a majority, let alone super, in congress. That would suck, right? Nah... leave the "your guy is an idiot and does everything you want" to the republicans... you guys should stick with "our guy sounds awesome, who cares if we get NOTHING during a super-majority".

Super-majority gone. You got nothing. Nothing.

But you want to worry about Palin not accomplishing climate stuff! Hahaha. What a joke.

Please, when Obama accomplishes something that was not on Bush's agenda, let me know.

No, there is no way you can argue that Obama is doing the exact same things as what Palin would do. With regards to climate change, I would be concerned about there being firstly, no chance of any agreement (as compared to the small chance of agreement under Obama) to limit it, and secondly, an escalation of the causes of it (do you think Palin is going to concentrate on clean energy as much as Obama is, or would she be more inclined to drill for oil?). Saying that the only difference between Palin and Obama is cosmetic is...well...completely, hideously, flagrantly fallacious.

So far, Obama has only satisfied the Republican agenda. Nothing else.

Did you miss the memo? He told Copenhagen to piss-off and spit on Kyoto on his way out the door.

The really funny part is, you can't prove me wrong. He has not accomplished a single democrat goal yet. I think the republican agenda is pretty much accomplished (Gitmo, Patriot Act, Afghan, Iraq, Copenhagen). How that happened is beyond me, but there it is. Hell, he even expanded the war into Pakistan and increased nuclear weapon spending.

What's he gonna do next? Start awarding no-bid contracts to Halliburton for stuff they are under investigation for??

Oops!!

Defense contractor KBR Inc. has been awarded a $35 million Pentagon contract involving major electrical work, even as it is under criminal investigation in the electrocution deaths of at least two U.S. soldiers in Iraq.

I swear, it is like that South Park episode about homeless people. You democrats are the bums...

"change? got any spare change?"
"No, we don't have any change. Now, will you go away!"

Ohhh! I have an idea!

Let's make (another) Palin bashing thread and pretend the republicans have a big problem with her in their corner. Yeah, that'll make us feel better for having the biggest dead-beat president ever.

Carry on.

Generally, "for the lulz" is a bad reason to do anything, outside the internet.

But come on! This would be hilarious, I mean we're talking about a women who thinks Saddam Hussein caused 9/11

Though I wouldn't take the lulz as far as Presidency, but I'd still like to see her campaign.

Only dispair and destruction would result from her (mis)-rule.

When Palin gets elected the entire midwest will catch fire, California will separate entirely from the mainland, the south will successfully secede from the union, and a hurricane/massive floods will completely eradicate New England! Oh, and in Alaska, the wolves, tired of being hunted from helicopters, will rise up and destroy all humans. The Polar bears will help. Hawaii...nothing will happen in Hawaii. And all this in the first hour of her presidency. (except for the south part, that's permanent.) The fires will last for a week, before being put out by widespread tornadoes and epic rising of the Mississippi's water levels.
