For me, Civ3 will never lose its appeal while people are making such wonderful units. Great submissions guys!

In the end I went for H.Balck - nice animations and cracking detail. The Mammoth was a very close 2nd because of it's all round coolness and the character that Plot always manages to put into his units.

I can't be bothered to actually test in-game, but from the preview I find the Wood Elf the most convincing one. Good looking, the movement looks natural, good props, and I believe a cape isn't easy to animate. Gets my vote.
Plotinus' mammoth is also outstanding, will probably get a lot of use.
Georgestow is new to unit-making, this is a very good start.
Imperator's units are always very inventive, and he seems to raise the bar every time.
H.Balck doesn't always release his treasures to the public. We have to be thankful for this outstanding elephant unit.

I had to go Mammoth, but if you had included Slash by Georgestow that would have forced my hand to vote for him :)

But that was THIS month. It'll probably be submitted for next month's competition. Unless I make a better unit. Steve Tyler maybe...

I voted for the Punic Elephant because I like the Hellenistic world. I like the artillery a lot too though, and all the rest.

Very difficult decision

This is one of the most diverse and interesting unit contests I've ever seen here. Every one of them has outstanding features (keeping in mind that I haven't seen any of these in-game yet): Balck's elephants are colorful and will look great in-game; Plotinus' Mammoth was eagerly anticipated and flawlessly executed. Imperator's Generic Artillery is the most complex unit animation this month, well done as well. I second Optional's obsevations on the Wood Elf; that cape is very well done, and the unit would fit into any fantasy scenario. Georgestow's Hippi (really, with an "i"?) is just fun and very original, and will find it's way into most modern scenarios. It's a hellish choice, to have to actually pick between them.

In the end, I went with Plot's Mammoth, because I know it's made completely from scratch and yet is so well realized and realistic, and because it fills such a gaping hole in the pre-historic unit lines. I can only hope that a Saber-Toothed Tiger is made to go with it.

Hardest choice I've ever had to make in a monthly competition, I think. Went for the Punic war elephant in the end because that elephant just looks so realistic and I love Classical history, especially Roman history, so Punic war stuff is super cool.

Cheers

Nick

There are so many lovely units this month ,that it was a real hell making a decision.
So I`ve waited a handful of days. Than only the Artillery and the Mammoth was left.
... finally I`ve picked the Mammoth. But more or less `cause the missing wining chance for the Artillery.
