[Mini Mafia] The Social Experiment

Welcome to my first time hosting a mafia!

You've just opened your mailbox, and you find one lone letter. It has no return address it appears. You open the letter, and it reads:

Dear __________,

If you're reading this letter, you've been selected, along with 21 others, to join in a very important study in human psychology. You'll be picked up in an unmarked white van, and be taken to a secure location in the Canadian wilderness. At this facility, you'll take part in a game of Mafia. In this game, 8 of you will be innocent men and women. During a "day phase" you and your allies will try to determine the three members of the Mafia . At the end of the "day", whoever is chosen, in a democratic practice, will be, "removed" from the game. By removing the mafia, the Town will win the experiment. During the night, the two mafia will determine one person to "remove" from the game. In the morning, the members of the town will find out who was "removed", and they will also receive two clues as to who are the mafia. These clues will be provided by the Mafia. The catch is that a clue may be made to point to someone besides the actual mafia. We hope this is a fun time for all involved. Please remember, you will be watched 24/7 by our scientist. Once you have opened this letter, you will be used in this experiment. You have no choice now.


RULES/Guidelines/info: All credit goes to Choxorn for the rule set.
Rules
-1 mafia for every six or seven townspeople.
-Nights will last approximately 24 hours.
-Mafia members will PM their kills and clues to me at night time.
-Clues can be either true or false, and they must alternate. You choose the veracity of your clue at the onset, and then they must alternate.
-All clues must be explained to me.
-If a mafia member fails to send in a clue, I will make a true clue.
-Talking at night is NOT permitted.
-Day will last approximately 48 hours.
-Voting will occur during the day.
-The amount of votes given will equal the number of mafia.
-All votes must be in bold. Adding Vote: before the vote is optional, I don't really care. To remove or change a vote, use Unvote: or put a slash () through the previous vote.

Private communication in clue games does seem a rather novel concept.

Also, why no editing of posts? Striking through votes is a clue mafia tradition (or at least, something I've always done).

Ok, I'll update rules to reflect these comments. What about a quick topic for mafia?

@Skwink- a mafia quick topic is a given. With private communication, I was just meaning that it's a rather novel idea to 'allow' it, given I don't think I've actually heard of any actually happening (outside the mafia) in a clue game.

Can I also propose lengthening the day lengths? It can be vital to have two bites at the apple so to speak; to come back a day later to reconsider/look at any new arguments that have surfaced. We're in no rush, right?

Also also, can I propose adding more players? 2 mafia is too many for 10 players (they win so long as neither get lynched on the first day, seeing as there is one lynch per kill), and 1 mafia is too few. 2 mafia for 14 players gives the town more of a chance.
 
I'll play, of course, since it's been at least six months since the last clue game (vanilla sprinkles mafia, right?)

Well, this is a mini game. Can we just transform into a small game or is there a line for those?

How long should days be? Any length is fine by me.

Once we hit 10 people to fill the list, I'm putting people into reserves. If we do make this a larger game, we'll move them to the player list.
