Summary:
  • Carthage Trait is called Phoenician Heritage
  • Carthage UU is Quinquereme
  • Pantheons do not expand beyond borders
  • Composite bowman in the archer upgrade line.
  • African Forest elephent has strength of 14
  • At least two new resources - one looks like tea or something, other is the 'turtles
  • Colombo new city state - Merchantile
  • Milan new city state - Cultural
  • Order: Can purchase GE with faith
  • Autocracy: Can purchase GG with faith
  • Freedom: Can purchase GA with faith
  • Huns have Asian city style
  • "Global Quests": For example, first Civ to get X culture becomes the CS ally
  • New resource - Pigs
  • Haile_Selassie is the leader of Ethiopia
  • Ethiopian rifleman UU, "Mehal Safari"
  • Forest Elephant "strikes fear" into opponents and generates GGs faster
  • New diplomatic option is 'Adopt Embassy'
  • Freedom unlocks in the Industrial Era
  • Retire option on ingame menu
  • Mayan UU: Atlatl (Spear-thrower).
  • combat strength of fighter is 45 now instead of 40.
  • the Order finisher is now +2 of everything, instead of just +1.
  • New wonder: CN Tower
  • Carthage UA: units can enter mountain terrain & they take 50HP damage if they end their turn on mountain.
  • New resource: Either coffee or citrus
  • 1:24:16 mouse over the new resource tile. I *think* coffee, requires plantation, 2:c5food: 1:c5production: 1:c5gold: in a forest.
  • New resource: Crabs
  • Autocracy opener includes 10 culture pillaged for every 1 culture produced in city
  • Geneva is a religious city-state
  • Religious city states have a new icon, two hands praying
  • Autocracy opener: -33% unit maintenance and "receive 10 culture as plunder for each point of culture produced in the conquered city." Not sure what that means exactly - seems very powerful though! Finisher is +25% attack bonus for 50 turns!

So excited!!!

Six hours and forty one minutes to go by my count :king:

Pretty much bedtime for me now here in NZ, but will be up at 6am (NZ time) to catch the live stream.
Here's hoping that my parent's rural broadband connection is fast enough.
Sigh...Easter activities bringing the whole family together

We should have a whoooooole hour for G+K today! Finally.

It's 3:30 AM here in Adelaide actually, thanks to Australia's wacky time zones. ;)

I'll still be staying up for it though!

I wonder what the quality will be, though. Will we see the screen with a voiceover, or will we get a video of the room where a demo is being held?

Yes, a 30 minute gameplay video that people at PAX see we'll see.

Thirty minutes seems short, but what the hell.

They mention a core patch sometime before the release date, something to do with advanced settings. Whatever it is, it is supposed to add something to Multiplayer and Single player? Does anyone know what that entails?

I think it will be a direct feed, like they did with the Spec Ops... or whatever. that game in Dubai.. that had a nice quality.

UPDATE : Liz repsonded to mah twit, it's gonna be a direct-feed as opposed to a camera facing the feed. so nice quality FTW!

There is an Era, but it is not the Great War Era. It has to be the Enlightenment or some such Era, becasue Ed Beach would be concentrating on the earlier time period. So I wonder if we will hear anything new about that today.

Also, does anyone know how the upcoming patch will do to multiplayer and single player? They mention something about advanced settings. This is something other than unit animations being added, I got that part.

The Patch is most likely the one that got leaked earlier this year.

It is, but there might have been additional features added since then.

It is, but there might have been additional features added since then.

I watched the interviews, but its broad and vague. We have to be suprised about something. The interesting thing is that the core game will be updated before GaK comes out, so we can try some new features with vanilla.

3 hours 10 minutes before it starts. Thats 1pm Central time, 2pm Eastern time.

Answers to these would be nice...

1. Are jewelry and porecelain the only two special resources available to mercantile city states?

2. What is the Carthage ship UU?

3. Is there another era in the techtree? I rewatched the interview and there is, but what is it? We know now that the Great War is not an era, but people have said that there is another. Ed Beach loves earlier times it must be an earlier era.

4. Could you tell us about a new resource or two? PLEASE!!! We all saw the screenshot of mystery sea resource, which looked like anything from turtles, to clams, to god knows what. I thought it was turtles myself.

5. What is the remaining civ? Is it the dreaded Zulu? Is it Sumer? I have even speculated poor Australia. That did not go over too well. I mean we already know the other 8 civs, and that Spain is free, who I already have, but tell us the last one.

6. Can triplanes and the WWI bomber go onto aircraft carriers? The reason I ask this is simple. For one of my games I plan on reworking my tech tree a bit to stop at the end of WWI. Aircraft carriers will be like one of the last things that can be built, I, may move them up a tech or two to fit them someplace close to the other WWI units. Then I will end at the industrial era and points will decide things. I will try to have all WWI civs in the game, or civs that could possibly pertain to WWI, and it will be a team setup beginning in the Industrial Era, or one Era before. Anyway, I would imagine triplanes should be able to go on carriers, probably not WWI bombers though.

7. ? I have to think does anyone else have any ideas?
