1. Civilizations
Spoiler :

Please note that it wasn't my intent to represent the civs at their greatest extent. That would be hard to draw and wouldn't look nice. The main idea was to associate the ingame civs with their modern counterparts. So in order to keep things plain, many great empires were completely underestimated.

The hatched areas may represent:
-Overlapped civs:
  • Greece, Byzantine and Ottoman Empire;
  • Arabia and Babylon;
  • USA and the Iroquois.
-Countries whose historical or national features are used by a different but close civ:
  • Norway's Norwegian Ski Infantry is used by Denmark;
  • Finland's Hakkapeliitta is used as Sweden's UU;
  • Ukraine's Cossacks are used as Russia's UU.
  • Hungary's Hussar is used as Austria's UU.
-Regions that share much (history, culture, in-game city list etc.) in common with a close featured civ:
  • Afghanistan, Tajikistan (and Turkmenistan): Persia;
  • Northern Sudan: Egypt;
  • Eritrea: Ethiopia;
  • Jordan and Syria: Arabia;
  • Canadian Borders: Iroquois;
  • Iceland and Greenland: Denmark.
-Regions that aren't well represented by the civ they are related to:
  • Western parts of China (Tibet and Xinjiang);
  • Argentina and parts of Chile, since these countries are not so close related to the Incas as are their Northern neighbors;
  • Eastern Europe and the Huns.

Feel free to suggest anything you judge pertinent, and warn me if I missed something.

This is amazing! Thanks for all the hard work. :hatsoff:
I've been wondering actually about the Wonders how they fit geographically, this makes it more clear.

Oh and there's probably at least four new natural wonders added into GAK, they were accidentally revealed in a patch and pulled back, someone must have a list for them, one was Ururu(?) from Australia.

Yea I'm pretty sure fountain of youth believed to be in Florida, and El Dorado is in Colombia.

Thanks.

Awesome work mate, you've done a great job (And provided me with a guessing game for what the wonders were on the plain version) :D

I shall add the wonders' names, so it becomes more comprehensible while maintaining its visual clear.

Also, Pouakai, do you have the icons of those leaked natural wonders? I guess I saw them somewhere, but maybe I'm just imagining things.

I you sure its not Uluru the aboriginal name for Ayers rock. Could be linked in with pantheon beleifs.

Great maps!

The Byzantines will probably overlap with Greece as well, unless of course modern Greek cities aren't in the Greek city-list (I don't remember whether cities like Thessaloniki are in it).

Technicly the statue of librerty is a french wonder

Yes, but don't you think that's a little pedantic given that it was given to the United States and has always lived there?

It's a bit like saying Stonehenge is really Welsh because that's where the stones came from - not that there would have been much national identity in this period.

Wow, that natural wonder map is empty. We seriously need way more natural wonders. :(

Technicly the statue of librerty is a french wonder

To be fair, it's both. The French designed the statue and did a lot of the work on it. It was then assembled in the United States, with the Americans funding and constructing the pedestal. It was very much a joint effort.

Wow, that's awesome. Completely puts my dot map to shame. I was never sure how to approach it considering the overlap between empires. I would suggest giving the Arabs Syria because Damascus is a significant city on their list. And, yeah, the Aztecs need more territory (I don't think you have Mexico City in their map). Aside from that, it looks wonderful.

thanks mate. looks good and cool.

The Rock of Gibraltar is technically part of the UK, not Spain
But it's probably look's better this way, so it's fine of course :)

Also, you should add the other 3 leaked Natural Wonders too, not only Mt. Sinai

Wow this is Amazing, just 2 things.
1. the mongolian Empire was huge, are you doing modern land or something?
2. weren't the iroquois also in canada?
