C2C Crashes upon "Load an Addon" loading - Unresolved

I use windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. I'm using C2C V 22.1
I do not load out crash, I can do that just fine, the problem really is that I can (very buggily) get through lots of XML MISSING OK boxes, get to the game, but the game won't start.

XMLs seem to not be working in the XML folder, and I've already tried rerouting and playing on regular civ 4 rather than on BtS.

I'm looking for a more detailed install guide.

I also installed civ4 with the "civ 4 complete" bundle. I have Caveman2Cosmos in the mods folder under the Beyond the Sword folder in Civilization 4 Complete folder under Firaxis Games under 2K Games
Total, after failed configs and mod reinstallation: C:\Program Files (x86)\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Caveman2Cosmos

Unable to load an addon, run it from shortcut, redirect with other files, and I cannot run as admin or service pack whatever, for I've tried and failed.

Sample error states it cannot find Health_Care or whatever in unitinfos.xml, I think. This was over an hour ago.

I need:

  • Deeper installation instructions
Or
  • A full description of how I can fix said (poorly) described problem.

Thank you for your help, and I made this account just to access C2C bit of the forums.

Welcome to CFC and C2C.

It should work out of the box. The only thing I can think of is that Civ Complete may be version 3.17 whereas C2C requires version 3.19 of Civ IV. You may need to download and apply the patch. Unfortunately I can't remember where to look for the version being played.

Thank you, Hoskuld.

Also: It may be that I did not install the SVN, I was almost 100% sure that the SVN version was an optional efect that let you update easier.

Spoiler :
I would be grateful for a link to the v2.19 patch, but both of my civs say FINAL VERSION on them.

Civ4 Version (Advanced -- About this version)
174
Save Version for civ 4
103

BTS Version
317
Save Version
301

Yep, I'm 2 versions down.

You can just apply the 3.19 update as it has all the others in it. Try here.

I do not know how to install that patch, as I've downloaded it, run it, and it still says 317.

I've seen that it now allows me to update from in game, but it wants me to uninstall after about a 15 minute wait for many many bytes of data. Suggestions?

You might need to fully uninstall, then install and fully patch the vanilla Civ4, then install and fully patch BtS. Don't use the ingame patch thing, it doesn't always work...

Then install the c2c mod. The SVN is a more beta version that is constantly changing, due to ongoing programming updates. If your just wanting to play and not have to deal with the game in more than usual flux, then download the regular "released" version, which is v22_1 at the time of this posting.

Afterwards, you might want to follow these instructions to set up your shortcuts http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=11371474&postcount=4682
