Communication - While alive and not investigating for more than one round, you may communicate with other players however you wish. If you are absent from a Day phase because you are investigating, you may not post in the thread or exchange PMs. If you are killed by the Thing, you may not post or PM anywhere about the game except in the Dead QT. If you are chosen by the Thing as an impersonated identity, you can post as normal, under the directions of the Thing player. Dead players may be PMed as normal until revealed as killed. However, any replies must be first approved by the Thing player.

Let's go over the available actions:

DAY, 48 hours Only one action can be taken by the group as a whole.

1. Kill. Any lynchee will then be revealed as Scientist or Thing for all to see.
2. Quarantine. The group can vote to have one player isolated in the sanitation chamber. The player will not be able to do anything that night.
3. Investigate. During the day, one room may be searched in full by everyone as a group for any signs of bodies, Thing residue, or special items. If any items are found, its effects will be shared by everyone present.

Night, 24 hours Each player PMs his/her order. Only one action can be taken at a time.

1. Investigate. You may choose to look over a room by yourself to find any bodies, residue, or special items. If another person is in the room, you will receive a bonus to that search. Well...if that other person is a "person", anyway... Some rooms may require more than one round to search. If you wish to search it, you will be absent from the Day phase.
2. Sanctuary. You may reside in the Thing-proof sanctuary, an action you can only do three times. The Thing has this same choice; however, the Thing will not be able to perform any actions.
3. Defend. You may stay in a room of your choice and be on guard. If the Thing appears, you have a 50% chance of escaping safely. If the Thing attacks in a room with two or more players, the players' actions will automatically switch to Defend.

There is a small chance of a player detecting the Thing performing an action.

Thing actions (Night)
Kill and Convert. The Thing can kill the player and absorb his/her appearance. However, it can only appear as one person at a time; a different appearance can be chosen each day (or the Thing can stick with the same one from the previous day). The body will be automatically hidden in the room if the Thing wishes to leave it there.
Move a body. In lieu of killing that night, the Thing may move a body to another part of the facility.
Leave residue. (Secondary action) After killing someone or moving a body, you may leave an identifying marker (piece of clothing, hair, object) anywhere in the facility.

If any Thing action involves a room that requires more than one round to investigate, the Thing will have to spend that same amount of time there.

Again, all players will be listed as alive unless their bodies are discovered or a player is lynched.

Events Log

Night 0 - The sled dogs are found. The Thing isn't.
Day 1/Night 1 - Takhisis is quarantined in the sanitation chamber, sans feline photography.
Day 2/Night 2 - Visorslash and Jarrema are absent from voting. The group investigates the dog cages and finds a means of communication.
Day 3 - Takhisis and Mat93 are absent from voting. Walkie-talkies are distributed to Zack and Jarrema.
 
Night 0 Update

The sled dogs are dead; worse, eviscerated. Worse still, one of you walked into the middle of one of them...changing. The others hid in their corners, yelping. As soon as you got your gun, it was too late.

But the air duct is open....


It is now DAY. You may begin posting. Remember, the group gets one action per Day phase: Investigate, Lynch, or Quarantine. You have 48 hours until the first Night phase on Saturday 4:00 PM CST.
 
We should quarantine until we have at least a semi-decent lead.

For now, investigate, in the home of finding the special items. Although quarantining is the other option I would be happy with.
 
Investigating will be a much more rewarding option once there are things to investigate. ;)

How about we all stay in the same room, and we all lynch someone. And we all seek sanctuary each night.

I assume that's a lynch vote.

I unvote the quarantine of classical_hero and vote that we investigate the Recreation Area. Anyone got coins? There's a terrific megainball machine near the back gate.
 
Oooops. I didn't specify where to investigate. Investigate the Mess Hall. Worst case, we get a good meal out of it.

Seriously, we should wait to investigate until there is actually something to investigate. Meanwhile, let's lock someone up for the night and see what happens. Why is this such a difficult decision?

We can get items instead of killing anyone who in all probability will not be the thing.
 
Same applies. Quarantine someone who might have a useful ability (or not) on N1 instead of a potential benefit. Maybe we should alternate between investigating and quarantining/exterminating.
 
There's absolutely nothing to indicate that anyone has any special abilities. And you're forgetting the 10% chance of quarantining the Thing.
 
but if we find some items, maybe we will get special abilities?
