Romney could be facing a donor crisis if he doesn't recover soon, at least according to this Fox Business story.

TL;DR: If he's still behind after the debates Romney risks losing his money support to down ticket Republicans. Silver lining being that GOP senate and house candidates would get a cash boost, and the donors don't seem to be moving to Obama so far.

Guy on the radio yesterday was talking about the thing to watch to tell what the campaigns are really doing is their buys of advertisments in different areas. Where they are cutting their advertising, they've given up those locations.

Sadly, neither campaign is giving an inch of ground in the state of YouTube

what did they even think when making him candidate?

Ron Paul is on that list so why they ran Mitt is beyond me;)

In all seriousness though, I would imagine Huntsman would have done better than Romney, so why did they pick Mitt?

I heard that Huntsman wanted to shut things down like the EPA

Well, I don't know about Huntsman, but I for one would agree with him if he did;)

Because the rabid thumpin' culture warrior base wouldn't let them pick someone like Huntsman.

Remember, it's a double gate. You have to survive the GOP primary and the general while the base is working hard to keep that particular Venn diagram from overlapping.

If the money is now moving to state wide races, that lowers the chance that Democrats will be able to take the house/senate, and you country can actually be governed again.

Yeah, Huntsman acquired a reputation as a moderate despite supporting some awfully right-wing policies (like his tax plan). The connection with the Obama administration, consistently low polling, and his comments like "yes we evolved" gave him a free pass from scrutiny on the policy side.

I think its a sad statement for the modern republican party when a simple statement like "we evolve" is both controversial and a big deal .

True story. Makes me sad.

Of course, in this context, I define governing as constant vetos and an unwillingness to compromise. Currently, we only have one of those things going for us.

Theory in crisis, yo. Haven't you heard of its impending doom? The scientists, by and large, don't seem to have gotten the memo either ;)

And suffices to convince moderates that he's the most reasonable of the bunch!
