Hey there all, first post here.
I used to have DoC set up on my old PC, which ran it just fine. The PC died a couple months ago, and it wasn't until yesterday that I remembered about DoC and tried to install it, to no success at all.
After I've extracted the DoC .rar to the BTS\Mods and launch BTS, I go to the "load a mod" screen, and come across the problem that's been driving me crazy for a day. When I go to load DoC, I get taken to the desktop as per usual when loading a mod, the little Civ 4 box comes up, it disappears, and that's that! Civ 4 stops running, and DoC never launches. If I hit the BTS .exe, the game launches as if nothing had happened.
I've tried running the BTS .exe in XP SP3 compat mode, but I get an error message when I do so (I'm prompted to insert the CD that's already inserted!). Vista SP2 compat mode gives me the same problem as XP, and Win7 compat mode gives me the same problem I originally had. Running the BTS .exe as admin does nothing.
So that's that, I just resign myself to the fact that Windows 8 doesn't like DoC?
The original Rhye's and Fall works fine, btw.
