What is fake, what is real
What is yours, what did you steal
What is good, what is bad
What is happy, what is sad

There is no power, there is no pain
There is no Abel, there is no Cain
There is no right, there is no wrong
There is no music, there is no song

We are the true, we are the pure
We are the solution, we are the cure
We are the strong, we are the bold
We are the heat, we are the cold

We all submit, we all fold
We all lecture, we all scold
We all love, we all hate
We all fail, we're all second-rate

What is fake, what is real
There is no answer, there is no ideal
We are the truth, we are the lie
We all struggle, we all die

What is criminal, what is right
There is no black, there is no white
We are the scum, we are the passerby
We all struggle, we all die

Welcome to Trimafia!

A brief description of the game follows -- be warned, it is unlike anything you have ever seen before.

• Basically, it's three mafia games in one.

• Each host (choxorn, Takhisis, and Zack) hosts their own sub-game, without informing the other hosts of the setup or the assigned roles.

• Each player who signs up has a separate role in each sub-game.

• Each host hosts one day/night cycle (or "phase cycle"), and the three hosts alternate phase cycles in snake fashion. i.e. Host A hosts Day 1 / Night 1, Host B hosts Day 2 / Night 2, Host C hosts Day 3 / Night 3, Host C hosts Day 4 / Night 4, etc. The cycle repeats as follows: A-B-C-C-B-A-A-B-C-C-B-A-A-B-C (and so on, should the game progress that far).

• However, the alive/dead player list stays the same - someone who dies in Host A's sub-game on Night 1 stays dead for Host B's sub-game during Day 2, and so on, with the caveat that each host keeps their own separate player list that they update ONLY during their phase cycle - so, Player X might appear "townie" in the dead list when it's Host A's phase cycle, but "mafia" when it's Host B's phase cycle.

• The game ends when all sub-game have concluded. (When one sub-game ends, it is taken out of the cycle.) Each victory/defeat in each sub-game is worth a fraction of that player's total victory/defeat in the entire game.

Code of Ethics

All players are expected to adhere to the following code of ethics during play.

• Follow the Forum Rules of Civilization Fanatics Center.

• Refrain from taking and sharing screenshots relating to this mafia game during the duration of the game. This includes your Role PM(s), posts within the thread, QuickTopic posts, etc.

• Refrain from using a double login (an additional CFC account) for any aspect of this mafia game and restrict yourself to the identity used in signing up for the game for all communication relating to this game. Double logins are against the Forum Rules anyways, and they can be gamebreaking in a mafia game.

• If you have additional abilities as a moderator or administrator on the forum, please endeavor not to use those abilities to your advantage as part of your participation in a mafia game, save where asked to do so in response to a valid moderator-related question or function. I recognize that you can't turn off those features, and I don't think this has ever been a problem anyways.

• You are NOT allowed to privately communicate with your fellow players about this game, unless specifically told otherwise by the host.

• You are strictly forbidden from quoting any private communications from choxorn, Takhisis, or Zack. Paraphrase. (Yes, this includes Role PMs, too.)

• Follow the rules laid out by the hosts for this game.

• If you believe that yourself or a fellow player have accidentally (or purposely) contravened this code and/or broken one of the rules laid out by the hosts, report it to one or all of the hosts, attaching any relevant support information, including screenshots if necessary.

• Have fun. Winning is certainly an important objective, but the larger purpose of these games is to have fun. It's possible to have fun and lose. It's possible to have fun and win. It's possible to not have fun and win (etc.). Fun and victory are two different objectives. Try to achieve them both!

• Be active. This game is designed for a full roster of active players. Inactive players could upset the game's balance. Besides, what is the point of signing up for a game if you do not intend to participate?

Game Rules

The rules of play.

• Day is 48 hours, although this may fluctuate due to the hosts living in different timezones and having different schedules, rather than being three clones of each other living mirror lives.

• Night is 24 hours, although this may fluctuate due to the hosts living in different timezones and having different schedules, rather than being three clones of each other living mirror lives.

• During the Day phase, players are expected to vote to lynch another player.

• You have three options for lynch voting:

• Voting for a fellow (living) player. This indicates your desire for that player to die that day.

• Voting "Abstain". This indicates you have no official preference for the outcome of the day's lynch (or lack thereof).

• Voting "No Lynch". This indicates your desire for no players to die that day.

• To be counted, a vote MUST be posted in bold typeface. Anything else, such as dressing it up with a "Vote:" preface or styling it as an accusation, is unnecessary, albeit appreciated.

• If you desire to change your vote, simply vote for another player or choice. Any "Unvote:" or strikeout tags are unnecessary, albeit appreciated. *Takhisis would appreciate using these tags, but choxorn and Zack don't really care.

• A retraction without a re-vote will count as an "abstain" by default, as will any invalid vote (such as editing a post containing a vote).

• If you abbreviate the name of the person for whom you are voting, please do so in a clear and consistent fashion. If the host can't figure it out, the vote will be considered invalid.

• If you are dead, tell no tales. Dead players are allowed one "Bah!" style post, but otherwise are strictly prohibited from posting in the thread until all sub-games have concluded. Dead players will receive a link to the Dead Players QuickTopic, where they are allowed to discuss the game, and spoilers potentially revealed.

• Alignment is revealed upon death.

• No spam or editing posts, save for grammatical fixes. Make another post, if necessary.

"Look at the size of that thing!"

"Now, can anyone tell me the symbolic meaning of this phrase?"

Trezdor answered, as usual. "In George Lucas' 1977 film Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope, the seemingly overmatched Rebel Alliance does the unthinkable in going up against the all-powerful, tyrannical Galactic Empire. This line serves both as a representation of the astonishment and feeling of hopelessness present throughout the Rebels at the terrifying size of the Death Star, and also as a possible sexual innuendo."

In the back, Glexon mumbled to himself, "Why do we have to learn about this old crap? Useless piece of ... "

The professor had quite the sharp ears, unfortunately. "What was that, Glexon?"

"What's the point of studying some archaic media from hundreds of years ago, and analyzing symbols and dialogue the original creator of the media likely did not even intend to have hidden meaning?"

The professor frowned. "This was an iconic piece of art from the 20th century, and integral to understanding their culture and values. Now, let's jump ahead to..."

"What the..."

Suddenly, a wormhole had appeared at the back of the classroom, and everyone turned around to look.

Spoiler :

Before anyone could react, it had sucked them all inside and taken them back to the 1970s, when the hair was long and the glasses big...

It is now Day One!

Vote to lynch in bold.

See post #5 for a timer.

Woooo! You know who else may now post?

I'm too busy trying to think of innuendo about Takhisis's mom to post right now.

Vote: SouthernKing, for posting (nearly) directly above me. And, incidentally, for voting for me.

Also, cool beans we're in the 70s, when Fleetwood Mac made their best albums! Bring it forward, beaches!

Since we're in the 70s, I'll post a Fleetwood Mac song, because hell yeah!
