It was already reported just after the release. But I can confirm the bug that barbs just let unescorted settlers pass by. See savegame.

Great god, about time someone reported this.
I forgot to do this myself, too busy playing the game(cough)... then I suddenly remembered and came here to see if anybody reported this already.
I don't have a savefile, but I can confirm this happened in every single bloomin' game I've played thus far.
The AI typically does: worker, worker or settler, run to the nearest spot, found a city.
Oh, and I have raging barbs on, and there are at least five barb units running around anybody's city at any time while that's happening.

We found the problem, thanks much for posting a save. The AI is actually targeting the settler, but it's not calculating distance properly for the operation, so they chose to use a barbarian from further away instead of the one standing right beside him. We'll get this added to the patch.

Thanks for the information! But actually there are 2 bugs. The AI shouldn't send out a settler unescorted. Or does the AI take this risk on purpose?
