I'm helping Leoreth with Dynamic Civ Names while he focuses on more crucial aspects of the game that actually affect game balance. He has approved most of these changes but we have decided to release a trial version here first to garner more feedback from the player community.

You can download my Expanded Dynamic Civ Names here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/edcns/files/EDCNs/Assets.zip/download

To install, simply unzip it into your DoC folder. This is for the latest SVN versions (543 and later). Earlier versions will not be compatible because of the recent Civics overhaul.

Also, how frequently I update this modmodmod is not a problem, in the sense that save games from previous versions will work just fine with any newer version.

- Fascist names cannot appear before discovery of Fascism.

Please include this list of Arab and Moor dynamic names as well. It seems to have been overlooked.
Could you specify what are the changes you made?

I see no difference in the Moorish and Arabic sections of your DynamicCivs.py from the official SVN version (543 and 544). It could be that Leoreth had already incorporated your changes before then.

Edit: I see no difference from the official SVN version in your XML text tiles either. In fact all of them are last modified last October. You sure you got the right files?

Edit Edit: I'm sure your changes are already in the official SVN version (543 and 544).

The Moors don't have a vassals section in the DynamicCivs.py, therefore all of their vassals are generic.

A search for iMoors : {, showed that they don't have one in the most revent SVN

EDIT: The TXT_KEY_CIV_???_MOORS_VASSAL are the files I added in the XML

^ Is that in 1 file only? (DynamicNames_Moors.xml)?

If I were to incorporate your changes I need you to tell me which lines you have modified in which files exactly, because your modifications are based on a much older version of the game from last October. Since Leoreth had made changes to the Civics recently (within the last 10 days) my modifications do not work with SVN versions 542 or earlier, let alone a version from last October.

Find the "iMoors : {" section and copy until the "},". It should follow the same format as all the other vassal codes.
In the XML files at the very end is the "TXT_KEY_CIV_???_MOORS_VASSAL". Simply copy and paste that into their appropriate civ.
I added one for every civ that was around back then. So yes, every file I included in that post has the MOORS_VASSAL file added. They only work if you add the "iMoors: {...}," section in the python

Here's one thing you could do:

Do your modifications to the current official SVN (543 and 544) version files.

Upload those files. I will merge them then.

With the files you have already uploaded it's impossible for me to distinguish whether the changes are made by you or Leoreth during the past 10 months.

Or, alternatively, you can wait:

Wait till my set of changes have been uploaded to the official SVN (Leoreth told me he would do that after he finished the Civics changes) and modify the official SVN version then. I recommend this course of action since it is the most efficient IMO.

I'm currently off SVN until the mercenary thing is re-added a rush unit ability.

Like I said, simply find the iMoors : { ... } section in the python, and copy and paste that anywhere in the vassals section. Then, in all the XML files, go to the last one and find the MOORS_VASSAL file and copy and paste that into the appropriate civs. For instance, SPAIN_MOORS_VASSAL goes into the Spain text file.

OK I will try that.

Wow Nice..
You accept suggestions?
I listen.

Islamic Republic of Iran(Modern islamic Iran)
Republic of Iraq(Arabians with bagdah like capital)
Kingdom of Wessex(England before 927)

I checked. There is no need to change anything.

Most of your changes have already been incorporated into the SVN version by Leoreth long ago, including all European vassal names of the Moors. You can play a Moorish game on the SVN version to experience that.

Islamic Republic of Iran(Modern islamic Iran)
This is already in the game.

Republic of Iraq(Arabians with bagdah like capital)
This already a name for Babylon.

Kingdom of Wessex(England before 927)
I considered adding this myself, but this DCN would only exist for a few turns since England spawns a few turns before 927 so I decided against it.

You added?

Thats not the last version but..

Either Leoreth added this SINCE 1.11 or you have added these outside of the SVN. I just checked and no, they are not there. The Moors have no special vassal names for anyone.

^ Ooo, I will change that then.

What do you think would be a good Fascist name for Iraq?

Edit: Ba'athist Iraq

I think the actual is good..

Look the same thing about persia/Iran
