After my last half dozen or so SG's ending in late Modern War I am looking for a less military focused game.

Here is the details:

Play as the Russians

Opponents: Spain, Egypt, France, England

Small Continents Map

Goal Space Race Victory!

May not initiate any Offensive Wars other than stopping a space launch. If war is declared on us we may retailiate to claim any lost cities but may not use a war declaration to claim additional lands by force. With less than the standard civs we should be able to have a solid core without laying down the :hammer:. Wars are to be defensive in Nature but getting tech and cities as spoils of war are allowed.

Difficulty: Emperor

Standard SG's rules regaurding exploits etc.

I'd like to join, presuming it's not a 3 or 4 member team :)

As for experience, I beat GOTM 20 on Deity...without fighting a single battle (victory was Space Race), so I believe I have the mindset for it.

I would like to join. I like the concept --- and I, too, am a little tired of the military ending of many of my latest games.

I just finished Speaker's Training Game (team 2), if you want to verify some 'credentials'. (also the Russians).

:yeah: Cosmonauts! :yeah:

I'm not particular.

Looking for 5 or 6.

RubberJello

As far as HOT3 I think we could've won by domination or UN as well be choose Space. This is a bit different - try to be a bit more of a builder game with less fighting.

My mom always warned me that if you hang around these forums, something unpleasant may follow you home!;)

(Or was that feeding it fermented herrings that did it? Now I'm confused...)

Heh! You'll have to keep your genocidal impulses firmly in check for this SG!
:D

Dont worry... Im actually a builder. I just like to have fun with killing things when I get the chance. I understand that this is defensive war and we do as little warring as possible and we build and we go for an SS. (and presumeably a bunch of wonders while we're at it)

Hotrod: An eval of my upcoming schedule has revealed that I won't be able to give this game enough time...Stuck_As_a_Mac can have my spot if you don't mind

Thanks hotrod...I will be lurking on this one :)

BTW, I think this is the second time I've given up my slot to Stuck_As_a_Mac ... I think I might add "Stuck_As_a_Mac's SG Placeholder" to my sig :D

New Roster with all that Changes

Hotrod
Aggie
RubberJello
Stuck_as_a_Mac
CoffeeCup

Now that we have a full complement of players I will generate the game and start with 20 turn then we will follow 20-10-10 etc.

Look for the game tomorrow.
