People of CFC,
I present you with The American Revolutionary War [c3c].

This is my first scenario and I have put a lot of work into this to make it as accurate as possible. I am completely open to any comments or suggestions.

Now Available in one download:

This file is 42 MB. It will probably take a long time if you use dial-up.

Rev War Scenario

Credits: Thanks to Steph for his American Conquests units without which I would not have made this scenario.
Thanks to DarkSheer and all other unit creators for their awesome units. Also thanks to the person who created this maps.

Em... whoa. Lot's of critique from me.

Well this is the American Revolution.. and it's on a world map. What I don't get is the fact that there's only six countries. England, Scotland, US, Iroquois, Tory, Spain, and France. This kind of blows me away.

First off, if this is on a world map.. why isn't there cities everywhere else. Why is Scotland a seperate country than England (England, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Manx, and Ireland were all united as the United Kingdom)? Where is Portugal, the Cherokee, the Creek, and what the heck is Tory?

Oh boy. I am confused. This would be much better on a North America map rather than a world map.. and what is with the countries?

Preview/Screenshot? Mobilize: Tories (plural of Tory) were the American supporters of the king. It is not a very kind name.

Phoenix-
Did this scenario in C3C because it has the best editor.

Mr. Black-
I am not at my computer at the moment, so I will check out what's wrong with the links.

Mobilize-

1. Chose this particular map because it allowed me maximum space to accurately place civs and cities. If you have any suggestions on modifying it, I would welcome them.

2. I set up Scotland as a seperate civ to increase scenario diversity and playabilty. However, that can be changed if everyone thinks that present better.

3. Did not include Portugal, the Cherokee or Creek because they did not play a significant role in this conflict. If you can provide me with information proving otherwise, I will be happy to make the necessary changes.

4. The Tories, or Loyalists, were American colonists who remained loyal to England throughout the war.

5. I'm confused about your question in regards to the countries...

Gogf-
Will post screenshot soon

Well this scenario would best be if it was on a North America map. I would make it so that France has land in Canada, Louisiana and the Carribean, Spain has land in Florida and the Carribean, and the British with land in Canada, America, etc. etc. I guess you can make the Lories seperate but keep them in an alliance with the British.

I believe you should add more Native American tribes because we did play a lot or roles in the Revolutionary as well as important relative wars such as the French & Indian War as well as the War of 1812. The Cherokee were allied with the British and their greatest city Tugaloo (Tugahlu) was destroyed by the Americans because of their alliance with the Brits. Other tribes such as the Iroquois and the Creek fought the Cherokee as well as the British and French and so-on. Plus if it's on a NA Map you can add other tribes to make it more interesting and there is more room.

Well I hope this gives you an idea atleast. I still like your scenario because of it's alieness to what I would picture such a scenario.. not bad at all though. I'm going to play around with this one. ;)

at the Time of the revloution France had already ceded Canada to GB.

Hi, Hopefully I can take a look at this down the road a bit. What victory condition did you use? Im known for modding scenarios and making a victory point version from them and this might be a good one for that.

First,
My apologies to all for not having worked on the broken links, I've been sick this past week fighting first a flu, then a cold.
However, I am now back in action and will start working on this again.

Mobilize-
If you could provide me with some Native American Leaderheads for the Creek and Cherokee I will be more than happy to add them as civs.

dreadnought-
I just used the standard victory conditions for this scenario since I am not too familiar with them.

Sorry I couldn't help because I was gone in real life. But so far it looks good.

So what am I supposed to do with all those files you have listed to download? Why not give me one biq and one folder for me to install?

(I am sure I can figure it out, but I suppose many won't bother to.)

Zorven-
Because the files are so big, I had to split them up like that.

So, what you need to do is create a folder for this scenario in C3C.

If you want explicit instructions as to how to set that up I can give them.

So I just put all those files/folders within one folder in my scenarios folder?

.../Scenarios/revolution.biq
.../Scenarios/revolution/all of your files

Okay,
The scenario has to go into the main scenarios folder in order to be playable, and all of my files will go into a sub folder.

Example:
CivIII/Conquests/Scenarios (for.biq file)
CivIII/Conquests/Scenarios/Rev War (for all other files)

PackerBacker-
Good to see you back in action! :D

Thunderfall-
I really appreciate you fixing those links for me. :D
I thought that I would have to re-upload those files again. :crazyeye:

Thanks again!

It's a compression format akin to zip.
